The use of child seats in vehicles will be mandatory beginning from 2020, and in preparation for this, Perodua is ramping up its child car seat safety campaign initiative to educate road users, particularly its customers, on the importance of using such devices.
According to Perodua Auto Corporation VP Datuk Ahmad Suhaimi Hashim, the automaker will run targeted educational, awareness and promotional campaigns on the importance of using child car seats throughout Ramadan, especially on the balik kampung jaunt in the run-up to Hari Raya.
Suhaimi, who is also chairman of the Perodua Safety Committee, said the safety campaign is very important to the automaker as it believes that safety is a must for everyone. “The general lack of compliance by Malaysian motorists with regard to child car seat usage is frightening to say the least, as children are the most vulnerable occupants in a moving vehicle,” he said.
“As a Malaysian carmaker, we feel it is our responsibility to educate our customers and the public on road safety. We understand that education is a long-term process, and we are committed to it,” he added.
In conjunction with this, Perodua will be offering its GearUp child car seats at promotional prices from May 13 to June 30. Two models are available, for infants and toddlers, and both are Isofix compatible and meet ECE R44 safety standards.
The infant seat, designed for infants weighing up to 13 kg and available in red or grey, is priced at RM660, while the toddler seat – for kids weighing from nine to 36 kg, and available in red or black – is priced at RM780, reduced from their current price of RM785 and RM975 respectively.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Perodua cares for the safety of the rakyat. This is why they sell so many cars.
1 million Myvi owners alone testify that Perodua cars are reliable and safe
Exactly Eugene. P2 & ManCity in total domination
Agreed. Perodua is an expert carmaker in making game changing cars such as Myvi and it have been proven by it’s sales every year. As a game changing national carmaker, we must be proud of Perodua success unlike the first one.
Not really. Perodua will not able to sell more in the future. As about upcoming future years, there will be more Protons on the roads as expecting many P2 Owners to change to Proton.
Still more expensive than branded ones you can get at AEON and specialty shops. Not worth getting it from us. Customers should insist this is given free when purchasing your car, or just walk away.
Yeah sure. Too bad none of Perodua cars can fit 6 child seats. Which is why many opt to go for Exora instead.
Perodua should sell the child seat cheaper. You think a family with 6 children is going to spend 5k to buy 6 child seats? The Aruz 17 inch tires already most owners going to struggle to replace.
Those Gearup child seats are just rebadged China-made ones, with price markup to scam gullible customers same like the Gearup tire pressure monitoring.
Dont forget super plastic and decals that adds hp for the 50 happy limited edition bezza owners
You mean sweet cherry brand? Not recommended to be bought. Koopers are better.
Terbaek P2 selamat! Harge raya mampu milik.
Rear seat belts also cannot enforce, some more want to do this. And with blackened rear windows, how to enforce? Jokers!!!
Would rather buy recaro child seat with that price
Once implemented Child seat will be commonly stolen item next year. Make sure the seat is chained & pad locked.
