Lexus has introduced the limited edition LS 500 Inspiration Series for the US market with a production limit of just 300 units. Like previous Inspiration Series models, the LS 500 gets a unique aesthetic makeover, starting with the Deep Garnet paint colour.
The automaker says the deep metallic paint shimmers in direct sunlight, yet features a lustrous tone in the shade. This is complemented by standard 20-inch wheels finished in Black Vapour Chrome, which Lexus claims to accentuate the elegant proportions of its flagship sedan.
In the cabin, the special model gets white leather trim that’s used for the seat upholstery, centre console and door panels. The semi-analine leather uses a dyeing process that gives it a bright white colour that stands in stark contrast to the black dashboard, steering wheel and carpet.
What’s more, the Kiriko glass trim on the door panels – previously only available with the Executive Package – bridges the smooth white door trim and the dark Mark Levinson speaker grilles. Additional touches include blue LED dash lighting and “Lexus” puddle lamps.
Mechanically, things are unchanged. The sedan is powered by a 3.5 litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine that makes 415 hp at 6,000 rpm and 600 Nm of torque from 1,600 to 4,800 rpm. It’s paired with a 10-speed torque converter Direct Shift automatic transmission.
In RWD form, the sedan sprints from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.6 seconds, though customers can opt for the AWD system with Torsen limited-slip diff. Pricing of the Lexus LS 500 Inspiration Series will be announced soon. Like what you see?
