Honda Malaysia (HMSB) has announced a part replacement exercise for the 2018 model year CR-V to replace the gear push knob button on the vehicle. The company says the recall, which involves 7,050 units of the SUV, is being made as a precautionary measure.
The part replacement is being undertaken address a potentially faulty push knob button on the gear selector, which could see owners of the affected vehicles facing difficulty in shifting the gear lever from the parking position to other gear positions. The company said that the issue involves only 2018 MY vehicles, and that all current units of the CR-V on sale are not affected.
According to HMSB, the replacement of the affected gear push knob button will be carried out free of charge, and all cost related to the replacement activity will be borne by the company. All affected customers will be informed via notification letters, which will include details of the product update.
Customers who receive the letter are advised to send their vehicles to the nearest Honda authorised dealer for inspection. The company added that the replacement stock for the push knob button will be available in stages, and vehicle owners can obtain more information on this product update campaign by visiting the company’s website or calling the Honda Toll Free number at 1-800-88-2020

Bravo Honda Malaysia. Adil dan prihatin ..
Oh come on.. When a company like H u said prihatin…. But it will be different tune when it comes to H little brother under DRB also
Honla fanbois say Honla responsible kompeni.
Honla bashers say Honla poor quality product.
Sure interesting comments one. Get your popcorn ready.
So right bruh. But broken gear push knob anytime more bahaya than faulty power window.
Toyota Malaysia and Perodua never do recall because they implement PR plan.
Bullshit dude…. Ask Aruz owner……..
After countless complaints, baru mau buat recall? Known problem since early this year, if Honda Malaysia cared enough to check forums & FB Groups.
After sales slow down only take action. A few broken plactic trims won’t deter Honda fanboys, but neutral buyers would be dissuaded by the perception of poor quality.
As usual la, know how to sell car but customer service is extremely bad… Only action after countless times of complaint…
You need to come up with a solution first before a recall. Designing snd manufacture the replacement parts takes time.
pity those LCLY crv drivers ^^ wakakakaka
I’m on early batch of crv 2017. Also have a prob of gear knob. Wake-up honda… NOT ONLY 2018 Batch.
When is Honda going to address their faulty Honda sensing issue? When driving in heavy rain, the lights on the dash sometimes light up to inform you that something is faulty and you should switch off the engine and quickly take your car to your dealer for repair. However when you go to your dealer, they are informed that this is normal and you are asked to refer to item 139 in the car manual which also says that this is normal. But how can they have a car with this faulty Honda sensing and claim that this is normal? To me, the fault lies with the sensor but Honda will refuse to change it but will do so if you pay for it even though it’s within their 5 years warranty period.
My 2017 CRV 1.5 TCP gear push knob broken as well. Went to SC and they changed it. Heard similar cases for 2017 model.
This gear knob problem already happen to my CRV in the first year then send to Honda SC they say have to wait 3 weeks for parts. Now my CRV 2nd year steering rack got problem SC said have to wait 2 weeks. Soon they will announce recall for steering.
I’m in the desert USA near Phoenix and had mine replaced under warranty earlier this year. It practically disintegrated and came out, stranding the car in drive or neutral. Mine is 2017 MY CR-V.
Dude… When you said My? Do you refer to malaysia CKD assembled? Because this is affecting Honda crv in malaysia
