2019 Perodua Axia – GearUp accessories in detail

With the introduction of the 2019 Perodua Axia, the Malaysian carmaker stays true to current form with the inclusion of its GearUp range of accessories for its latest entry-level model. In keeping with the car’s accessibility, purchase of GearUp accessories can be factored into a new car’s hire purchase scheme, and is supported by a six-month warranty.

Starting from the Axia’s exterior, items include a rear spoiler for RM300, black faux carbon-fibre B-pillar trim stickers for RM80 and door visors for RM150. Moving inside the car, sun shades are available for RM85, chrome scuff plates at RM140, coil mats for RM140 and luggage compartment tray for RM80.

An available Lite Package is offered, which pairs the rear spoiler with side skirts (not available separately) for RM980, while the Utility Package combines door visors, coil mats and a luggage tray for RM330, which is a RM40 saving over the sum of the three accessories when bought separately.

Perodua offers upholstery options with a pair of seat cover choices for the 2019 Axia. These are dubbed the ‘Bold’ and ‘Trendy’ seat covers – the former for the Axia G and GXtra and the latter for the SE, AV and Style – with each using distinct upholstery panel designs; the ‘Bold’ covers use grey contrast stitching and piping, while the ‘Trendy’ covers feature red constrast stitching and piping. Both are made of PVC, and each design is priced at RM600.

For additional occupant comfort, the 2019 Axia can also be specified with door insulation material at RM450 and hood insulation at RM72. For smaller children, the GearUp catalogue offers the Infant ISOFIX car seat for children weighing 0-13 kg; this features a child carrier which can be separated and taken out of the car. The Infant ISOFIX seat is priced at RM785.

There is also the Toddler ISOFIX car seat for slightly more grown children, rated for those weighing between 9-36 kg. This larger unit features an adjustable headrest as well as side impact protection; this unit is priced at RM975.

A pack of anti-theft brackets are also available for RM175, which offers additional mechanical security at five access points on the car. For rolling stock, the GearUp line also features a Bluetooth tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) for RM430; this is comprised of one in-car unit, four sensors, four lock nuts for security, one wrench and two AA batteries, along with the mobile app for monitoring.

There’s more in store, which are particularly handy for the rigours of daily use. These include the door edge protectors (RM30), magnetic shopping hook (RM50), sun visor organiser (RM20), luggage mat (RM75), smart tracker for small items (RM42) and a luggage organiser (RM37). The GearUp catalogue also lists a host of service items such as cleaner fluids, filters, spark plugs and more; click through the gallery for the full set.

  • The previous SE version looks better.. perodua should make style version as top spec or offer as optional to add on ASA… not functionless gear up bodykits, carpet, visors…
