Honda Breeze introduced in China – restyled CR-V with Accord face; 1.5T and i-MMD hybrid; from RM106k

We first saw images of the Honda Breeze back in August this year, and the restyled CR-V has now been formally introduced in China. A product of Guangqi Honda (aka Guangzhou Honda or GAC Honda) – a joint venture between the GAC Group and Honda Motor Company – the Breeze will have a pre-sale price of 180,000 yuan (RM106,339).

In terms of dimensions, the Breeze is almost identical to the CR-V, as it shares the same width (1,855 mm), height (1,679 mm) and wheelbase (2,660 mm). However, the Breeze is slightly longer at 4,634 mm compared to the CR-V’s 4,596 mm.

The revised styling, which appears to be inspired with the tenth-generation Accord in mind, is likely the reason for this difference. The Solid Wing Face design is prominently on display here, with a large chrome bar on the grille that is flanked by a pair of “jewel eye” headlamps.

There’s also a more aggressive front bumper with a trapezoidal-shaped lower intake, and this is joined by decorative slits and the fog lamp enclosures. The latter features trim that “splits” the upper and lower section of the SUV, and this stretches down the sides right on through to the bumper at the rear.

On that mention, the Breeze’s taillights sport a sleeker, flatter design and does without the vertical element that is found on the regular CR-V. The taillights wrap around a pronounced lip on the tailgate just below the rear window, with no chrome garnishing in sight. Further down, there are trapezoidal-shaped exhaust finishers placed below slimmer reflectors.

While there are no official photos of the interior, the Breeze’s cabin is identical to the CR-V, sharing the same dashboard design and five-seat layout. In terms of equipment, the Breeze is available with Honda Sensing and Honda Connect 2.0, while others features include wireless charging and a hands-free tailgate.

Customers will be able to choose from a 1.5 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine (190 hp and 243 Nm) mated to a CVT – marketed as Sport Turbo – or a Sport Hybrid powertrain. The latter is Honda’s Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) system also used in the CR-V Hybrid, which consists of a 2.0 litre DOHC i-VTEC Atkinson-cycle engine, dual electric motors and an e-CVT – total system output on the Breeze is 212 hp and 315 Nm of torque.

But will HM follow suit and update the CRV as such , or just stick to the usual bumper tweaks and splashes of chrome

Seriously..they are going to continue to use the 1.5L engines?? Hopefully, they fix the oil-gas dilution issue this engine has before putting it into another vehicle. I feel sorry for anyone who purchases that engine.
