The kei car is a vehicle category in Japan that allows owners in the country to enjoy tax and insurance benefits, with regulations that limit vehicles to a certain size (3.4 metres long, 1.48 metres wide and two metres tall), engine displacement and power output.
However, that hasn’t stopped enthusiasts from racing these pint-sized machines, and every two years, owners and racing teams from across the world gather at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) for a 24-hour endurance race known as K Car Global.
The racing event returns this year to Malaysia, and is set to take place this weekend, so if you’re interested to watch some kei car racing, head on over to SIC. Better yet, national carmaker Perodua, as the event supporter, is giving its customers the chance to take their cars on track with a small fee of just RM20!
Alternatively, if you’re part of the UFirst Perodua Passport programme, the entry fee is reduced to RM10 with a redemption of 1,000 UKoin (UFirst Points). You can also choose to enter by redeeming 10,000 UKoin, whereby you won’t need to pay in cash at all.
However, you’ll need to hurry as the registration process will be closed on Friday (November 15) at 3pm. Additionally, the track session is limited to just 100 participants, and admissibility is on the first come, first served basis. For more information on how to participate and the terms and conditions, head on over to the UFirst page, here.
The K Car Global event takes place on November 16, 2019 at 8am at the Sepang International Circuit, with the official 24-hour race set to begin at 12pm following practice sessions in the morning.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Wokay registered! Sepang here i come, woohooo!
Better wear Ironman armour when the Alza eventually crashes into barrier.
Ya, i saw last month news that one of the Bezza owner post in FB say that wanna race in circuit but the next day somebody post his car flips upside down in the grass. Lol
Aiyoo they have hard time to choose who is the winner because at first corner all cars ady masuk longkang!
Game changing Perodua Alza is built on a tough platform. This is why when we see an Alza got an accident, all of the occupants inside are safe even with only 2 airbags fitted inside.
In order take into account the safety after impact, Iriz used a larger number of 1480 MPa HPF on the body frame. This material even some C segment models could not be seen. Bezza only uses 590 MPa material, the gap is very large.
RM20? pakeh bonus dividen TH ambik bhgn …
1st corner, all of them game over when they all turn turtle. Race ends after just 5 mins. Congrats P2!
Brudder tak usharr ke, Perodua Axia pamer aksi powersliding dalam Ultra Racing … perggh!
360° pusing? Hahaha
Practice drive into the drain? Hahaha
So rm20… How many laps? Any overtaking allowed?
Clever perodua strategy. Better than proton who let the customers watch only from grandstand as they race to win merdeka endurance day. But nothing in return for owner so they decide to do it on the road. After the race.
So Perodua is turning their owners into ricers while Proton prefer their owners to enjoy racing from the sidelines. Again which brand is taking care of their owners lives?
Sure banyak tow truck stand by.
Btw, your insurance will not cover any damage or accident when racing in Sepang track. Sepang track will also ensure you sign an indemnity waiver before you enter the track, in the event of any injuries incurred during your race.
Its just a parade lap after the Kei Car Global race, not a full on track day
myvi is a K-car ? what a shame…both perodua and proton are disgrace and a curse for Malaysian motorists.
