The Japanese big guns played a game of ‘who could do more’ in China, and Toyota rang in with three concept debuts, signaling its intent in the world’s largest market. All three supposedly preview production vehicles that will come about.

No timeframe of when the Yundong Shuanqing Hybrid concept, the one here in blue, will become a commercial reality, but when it does it’s going to be a Chinese market-only offering. No details either about the vehicle, save that the 4.65 metre-long vehicle’s hybrid system was developed by Toyota’s R&D center in Changshu, China.

Meanwhile, there was a date being bandied about for the arrival of the market variants derived from the Dear Qin hatchback and sedan that also premiered at the show, and this is 2013. Again, both vehicles are destined to be Chinese market specific, part of the company’s intended programme to develop three front-wheel drive global architecture offerings there.
