Volkswagen Neeza Concept

neeza1.jpg

Volkswagen’s Neeza concept car is a concept car for the Chinese market - looking somewhat like a coupe and station wagon crossover, it was designed with the tastes of Chinese customers in mind. At first glance, it looks like a stretched Touareg - well, that would make it an Audi Q7 actually - equipped with a more concept-like futuristic front and rear end, as well as back-hinged rear doors for easier access to the interior.

The name Neeza is based on a character in Chinese folklore - Ne-Zha. Ne-Zha was a young boy who fought evil spirits with magical spirits, and had incomparible willpower and a youthful and anticipatory spirit. The red band in the interior is a reference to the red silk scarf that Ne-Zha wore.

Volkswagen says the Volkswagen Neeza concept was design based on Chinese cultural motifs - the philosophy of “round heavens and the rectangular earth.” Uh, whatever that means.

More photos including a cartoon depiction of Ne-Zha after the jump.

Why China can have so many choices of car model and the price also much lower compares to us??

It is becoz the market is very big, so many models of cars to choose.
The price of the car is cheap coz Chinese spending power is so low, if put very expensive, no one will buy….They still prefer their bicycle………Those who have spending power, will never buy this sort of cheapo cars, they will prefer to buy Merc, BMW, Lambo, Ferrari etc……….

This idea behind the concept is hilirious. And color is the only element on the car that bear the slightest hint of the fictitious character. A transport for Chinese ghost-busters or what?!

hmmm, lets see. It doesnt look all that bad but i have a slight prejudice against these workhorse, load carrying designs being a fan of the good ol’ three box design. But looks a bit Asian for a volkswagen car doesnt it? Ok though.

aiyooo red here and there on the internal look. I don’t think my eyes can stand that ’so bright red’ color inside the car lol. Then again, well understood it’s a concept car.

Does proton have a concept car to show us? lol

the colour is the only CHINESE element at this concept. but the look is rather confusing.

is this an SUV? a wagon? I rather call this a cross over concept of SUV and wagon. the length is just immense~..

I love the tailpipes. exhaust. really good. but the rest, like I say, confusing!

ps-mybe next time, they will design the Q7 based on the War Gods (dont remember his name!)

looks really like a china car…..ugly…..

granted thier spending power is low for low class….but thier middle class rivals the upper class in msia in terms of money. the middle class is really filthy rich in our msian standards.

The red color in the interior makes it look absolutely chinese, hehe. I think rear legroom is kinda stingy in there; won’t fit adults comfortably.

Its just a stretched Touareg, and I don’t think it will be like that come production time.
