AFTA must come sooner rather than the later.
or else, I’ll never own any of these..
March 27, 2007 @ 11:35 am
drM, sorry to burst your bubble of porsche dreams man.. but AFTA doesnt cover cars imported from europe. Even if it did, a porsche still isn’t going to be cheap.
March 27, 2007 @ 12:18 pm
Realistically the only one that i can ever aim to own and do really want to own in Malaysia is a Boxster. A S please.
996 C4S in 2nd hand form perhaps? Just love that fruity, bubly exhaust note.
Current 997 C S is good enough. With PASM and sport chronos pack please……no i am not going to time my standing starts.
March 27, 2007 @ 12:29 pm
AFTA no AFTA…….WTO is coming………..
March 27, 2007 @ 12:31 pm
AFTA or no AFTA……..WTO is just around the corner ……..
March 27, 2007 @ 12:40 pm
even with WTO, a porsche still isn’t going to be cheap.
March 27, 2007 @ 12:53 pm
Porsche 911 is in supercar league. even with the current price also got malaysia buying it.
March 27, 2007 @ 1:03 pm
i think it’s at least cheaper than lambo and ferrari. is it? last i heard the cheapest lambo and ferrari are going for about 1.7m, 1,8m. yeah, the AFTA doesn’t cover CBU from anywhere outside ASEAN. sad.
March 27, 2007 @ 1:12 pm
Wow, can anyone say expensive? Haha, glad I never really liked Porches, no heartbreak for me here, cars I wanna own are at a far lower price bracket hehe.
March 27, 2007 @ 2:38 pm

March 27, 2007 @ 2:55 pm

March 27, 2007 @ 3:31 pm
cayman s pn oklah
March 27, 2007 @ 4:28 pm
Still the current prices are cheaper than before. So for those who can afford it it’s a bargain. Those who can’t commnt on forums.. hahah
The Carrera was listed at RM1 million before and the Cayman S was RM770k.
March 27, 2007 @ 4:37 pm
Why Carrera GT not available in Malaysia? No longer in production?
March 27, 2007 @ 4:43 pm
Anyway Porsche are meant for rich ppl who loves it, always. but here in uk, u can get a used unit for around 25k pounds for some model… but its still consider expensive here…
March 27, 2007 @ 4:44 pm
Carrera GT is a limited production if I’m not mistaken…
March 27, 2007 @ 7:40 pm
Wow… so cheap!!… *run to the dealer and b0ok one* … NOT~~!!!
March 27, 2007 @ 10:17 pm
My friend got one Boxter S in US at $40k plus only, a brand new.
March 28, 2007 @ 12:02 am
expensive toy
March 28, 2007 @ 6:55 am

for a regular american, USD 40k for a car is not “cheap”. its still expensive. If 40K Us is cheap for a car, everyone would be driving a boxter S.
March 28, 2007 @ 10:58 am
Too expensive for me.. But i heard the Euro is coming to Malaysia to discuss about the FTA, just like US coming to Malaysia a few months ago.. hope is will lowered the Europe car’s price a bit in Malaysia
March 28, 2007 @ 11:10 am
i think the point i’m trying to get at is.. lets not kid ourselves, its still a porsche we’re talking about.. even if you had your WTO, or our FTA’s..etc.. its still going to be quite a hefty purchase.
If this thread were talking about peuqeot pricing, or renault pricing, or at a stretch, bmw pricing, the possibilities are still more realistic should an FTA or WTO come into affect.
March 28, 2007 @ 11:48 am
even after FTA, WTO or NAP abolished…. still an average joe wouldn’t have the guts to purchase a Porsche! financially not strong enough unless strike a Million dollar lottery but in average, people would buy house first then car, maybe a Accord/Camry/CRV/Estima and at most a Merc/BMW.
But a Porsche is rare! not easy to buy, and its even harder to maintain… the bills… (though its cheaper compared to a Ferarri)
So after FTA, WTO or NAP abolished then hopefully rakyat can get better cars in terms of quality and safety at a “reasonable” pricing… but not at this moment, for Rm50K you still have to open door to pay tolls or the brake pedal would poke your XXX when there a frontal impact!
