Hamann Lamborghini Murcielago LP640

The Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 barely needs anymore tuning, so this package is what Hamann calls an Appearance Package. It’s basically aerodynamically tuned bodykit parts - a two-part front spoiler, two-part rear diffuser, roof-mounted air intake, side sills, side intake covers and a rear wing. These components can either be made of Carbon-Kevlar or fiberglass.

Wheels are sized 8.5×20 in the front and 13.0×20 in the rear. Interior touch-ups include an eight-piece carbon fiber design kit that replaces the paneling around the instrument cluster, air bleed jet, gearshift panel, and ashtray console.

The single large exhaust pipe design is thrown away in favor for some really ricey-looking huge diameter twin oval pipes. The sound that emits from these twin exhausts have been tuned to sound more brutal than the stock system, and also comes with a new high flow catalytic converter.

Two more shots after the jump.

Murcielago is spanish for ‘bat’ but I believe Clarkson said ‘bull’. The earlier Diablo is ‘devil’ and the Countach is ‘wolf-whistle’. Clarkson also said that the gear shift is a soft as a nissan whereas in the 74 Countach, you needed to train on dumbells to shift gears.

An interesting evolution. Chyrsler bought the unprofitable Lambo and gave birth to the Diablo - sold it to Audi which is under the VW group - now the equally unprofitable but beautiful Murcielago.

What I’m saying is, if unprofitable Agusta was still under Proton’s stable ….. input please …!

I get the feeling Hamann likes to make things uglier and more vulgar. The stock LP640 was better looking.

    To Tommy Peters:

Murcielago is indeed a spanish word for bat, which also name after a bull (A bull name bat……)

Lamborghini unprofitable? They are in a all high note selling Gallardo like hot cakes!

I think the car looks overdone, would look better if it’s done the Superleggera way, uber multispoke rims and a subtle spoiler = coolness.

To Tommy Peters, about the name:

The name Murciélago comes from a bull that survived 23 sword strokes in an 1879 fight at the arena of Córdoba, and fought with such passion and spirit that the matador chose to spare its life, a rare honor. In another Lamborghini tie-in, the bull was later presented as a gift to Don Antonio Miura, a noted breeder, and went on to sire a line of famous fighting bulls. Murciélago also means bat in Spanish.

I got this off wikipedia cuz I remembered reading it sometime ago :p

They changed the side air intake to make it matching on both sides. I thought it was only one side with air intake

Besides Murcielago, Hamann did a great job on Gallardo Spyder too, added rear wing and black wheels, and a carbon fibre hood. Other than Lamborghini, there are BMW M6, Honda Civic Type R and the convertion of Porsche 996 to 997, all by Hamann.

Any tuned Lancer Evo from Hamann? :-)
