Disguised Fiat 500 Abarth spotted!

Fiat 500 Abarth

A high performance version of the latest modern incarnation of a retro classic has been spotted by Car Online making rounds on the Nurburgring, one of the few places that every car under testing has to grace it seems. The camo is minimal, only serving to hide a little minor trim level details that might be exclusive to the Abarth tuned up version. The wheels are much bigger and sportier, and are complete with low profile tyres.

They say under the hood of this Fiat 500 Abarth lies a 1.4 liter turbocharged engine putting out more than 150 horsepower, and thus the front air intakes on the bumper have been redesigned to be larger so that they can accommodate the larger airflow needed for the high performance engine.

Except for the rimms, looks like a pretty standard FIAT 500. Gotta wait for undisguised spyshot to see the true difference.

    The disguise looks so spidey.

I have a 1963 Fiat 500 that does not run too well as I can’t find a workshop to fix it. If this new version is in Malaysia, I will consider buying one. For 150HP, I will pay RM110K at current duty and tax

The long awaited Abarth 500 has returned! This should be a very interesting model probably more significant than the revival of the Mini Cooper IMHO. Probably one of the best revival cars as it keeps true to the lines of the original Fiat 500.

if launched in europe, this car would probably be around the same price as the mini.. but the mini is almost rm200k in malaysia.
