The price is about RM230,000, isn’t it? Yeah, I think they should make it a bit more cheaper. It’s more like a sub-200k car for me.

i saw a passat parked near my school that day..
for a 200k+ car it didn carry the looks/characteristics that the 3series/C-class has..

The passat is as big as the BMW 5 series and it is imported from Europe, i dont think they can lower the price or else it will compete with the smaller Golf GTi. They need to improve their marketing of their cars.

Passat is a mid-size car, which is same level as an Audi A6. There are nearly as much as 60k difference for these 2 brands of the same capacity.

VW finding ways to reduce the price by starting plant in Asean. Indonesia more likely rather than in malaysia. Deal didnt go through with Proton.
If gov. block that move they will get retaliation from Asean countries. So for now of coz direct import will cost more!!

VW should bring in the Passat 2.0 non turbo version and selling around 160k+ to compete with accord, camry and the likes.

I’m sure they want to make the cars as affordable as possible. But a non turbo Passat 2.0 at RM160k is clearly an impossible feat. Horsepower don’t determine the tax bracket its in, it’s engine capacity.
