Ford is taking the Ford Focus ST up another level with a top of the range Ford Focus RS. Above is a teaser image of the new car released by Ford. While the ST competes with the likes of the Golf GTI, the Ford Focus RS will be a Golf R32 fighter, with it’s Volvo inline-5 2.5 litre engine tuned up to produce 300 horsepower and 400Nm of torque. All-wheel drive is also very likely.
A concept version of the new Ford Focus RS is expected to be unveiled at the 2008 London Motor Show, with the production version following in early 2009.

Ford Focus ST is a very well built car with powerful engines. Why it did not come to our shores is because our Gvmt policy on European foreign cars are not favourable.
So guys, I guess we can just dream about the RS version and read it through the mags.
wrong, it didn’t come to our shores because Ford malaysia chose not to bring it in. Why? they will never be able to sell any or very little at least.
remember, its not as easy as just bringing a car in and then selling it. Ford malaysia would need to spend a substanstial amount of money equipping its staff, dealers, service people to handle a car like this. There will be lots of training, stocking of spare parts… etc. etc. and after all that money spent, only to sell 5, maybe 10 cars?

yaya, hope to get this one in bolehland, then after that “someone” can bring in Renault Clio and Civic 3-dr Type R, and all 3 can be compared…..

would you be so bold as to make a decision like that to bring in this car to malaysia if you were the boss at ford malaysia? real money in the real world is one thing, and making decisions on an internet blog is another thing.
even the “grey” importers wouldnt bring this car in. why would you when you can bring in some WRX sti’s, or skylines, or caldinas, or evo’s..etc and gurantee yourself buyers and make your money then to bring in something that you’re not sure anyone would buy.
