New Toyota RWD Coupe to be JDM-only?
I am not sure if this source is reliable, but Edmunds claims that Toyota and Subaru have decided that the Toyota-badged version of the upcoming co-developed boxer-engined rear wheel drive coupe will only be sold in Japan, while Subaru will market it internationally.
Edmunds further added that the companies have decided to mimic the dimensions and power to weight ratio of the now discontinued Honda Integra Type R, so if that is true, expect about 200 horsepower and a wheelbase of around 2400mm.

nevermind toyota insist it to be JDM, but internationally subaru will sell it under their name
whats the problem? i cannot see any.
but surely people will ask why because since they both JV on this one, and toyota wanted to JDM only while at the same time, subaru will market it else where.
does it make any difference?

no problem, Naza and other gray importers will do their jobs….
but the task of ‘copy cat’ Integra is not easy because the Integra itself is a great car….

No problem. Still they get the Subarus right. Even Caldina in for Japanese Domestic market only.

i agree. the integra is a monumental achievement for honda. they got the looks, dimension and suspension right plus the included LSD. i hope honda relaunches it in rwd concept.
and damn you toyota. so that means we are stuck with awd subaru.

I really hope this NEW Trueno will be a success. Subaru is own by Toyota, of course they can work together.
Well, Honda is always a Honda and Toyota will be Toyota. Despite the dimensions the feel of the car will be completely different.
I doubt Honda will produce RWD, that market does not belong to them.

@ ah liew: Toyota and Subaru working together is a deadly combination, and it’s summed up in three letters: WRC. We’re talking about two WRC teams that won the WRC Constructors’ Championship.

To jamsbong: Toyota is only a Subaru shareholder…but what the heck: it’s a wise investment.
