The amazing Nissan GT-R piloted by The Stig managed to get around Top Gear’s track faster than the likes of the Porsche Carrera GT, McLaren SLR, Lamborghini LP640 and just 0.2 seconds slower than the Ariel Atom.

0 0i watched the whole episode on bbc last night… fantastic!! Clarkson tried off roading with Daihatsu Terios as well….
Before this episode, Clarkson tried to race the bullet train by the GTR and it won. great car there.

0 0The GT-R does indeed have Lotus tuned suspension and handling if you had followed the story of the GT-R. Fantastic GR6 gearbox that can withstand track punishment for up to a year.
It’s always a car I have always believed in. All it needed was for it to be unleashed past the 276hp gentlemen’s agreement back in the heyday.
The ATTESA ETS system was and is still one of the world’s most advanced 4 wheel drive systems ever created. So good, that even the one used in the R34 hardly has any contenders even today.
That being said, most cars nowadays have truly advanced themselves from being plain ordinary RWD or 4WD cars.

0 0I’d enjoy the top gear drive test of GTR coz they really trash the car around and they know how.
I’ve seen Japanese videos of the car from Best motoring and the Nurburgring lap. They were all driving the car like a railway train. No powersliding at all.
However, Top gear changed my impression of GTR as they 4 wheel drift the car around corners. Goes to show some drivers know how to drive. (not the japanese).

0 0Agree with Mitlanevo…no matter how great the sheer performance the GTR throw at Nurburgring or how many times it already won the Japan GT round this year, it’s still a Nissan! Don’t get me wrong gentlemen, Nissan do build some of the great cars but Nissan is a mass car manufacture. It have all the performance and technology packed in it but it still lack the “prestige” feel into it. It all depends on that person taste and how deep his pocket is!
Like what Munky said, “given a choice, i’ll still get a lambo/ferrari over this”. As for me, given a choice…I’ll take the GTR over Lambo or Ferrari simply because the sheer performance you get for half the money you paid than those two (Not In Malaysia, mind you) ! Then again, for me, this GTR can’t beat my two favorites…Audi R8 (Manual of coz) and the Koenigsegg CCX! Still, it’s a bloody GREAT car and thumbs up for Nissan for the GTR!! Wish one day I could trade in my ZZT for the GTR…

i do agree with u guys.. It’s not as the same feeling as driving a Mclaren F1LM, Jaguar XJ220 or a Bugatti Veyron nor the Saleen S7 but it’s making it’s own pace now…
same goes with the Honda NSX already became an iconic symbol. but if you see the way it they built the GT-R is not entirely different compared to Porsche 911. just the structure is not spaceframe as other upper level supercar manufacturers…
just bare in mind, how many saloon derived cars capable/can unleashed awesome perfomence & sheer driving experience…
The GT-R is one of them…
