Volkswagen Golf Mk6 leaked photos on the net

Volkswagen Golf Mk6

The next generation Mark 6 Volkswagen Golf is set to make its first public appearance at the London Press Club Ball, with its press kit unveiling set to be somewhere in the next few days, but a small set of photos have already found its way onto the internet.

As expected, the new Golf looks like a more family-oriented Scirocco, with the rear end borrowed from the Touareg. The thinner and wider grille at the front gives the same effect to the rest of the car. Have a look at the Mk6 Golf after the jump.

it might look that way, becoz your comparing it with the GTi. This is the normal version. The Gti version should be better.

If you compare this with the current Golf, then i think it will look much btter than the MK V

The Mk5 rear looks more funky than this one, but i like the front, looks more planted

the rim looks “heavy”….Some “lightness” in the rim design would make the car look better.

Not a fan of the tail-light. They should have made it slimmer by about 3 inches. Right now it makes the rear looks fat.

And for those complaining that it looks like a facelift, well the Golf have always been evolving from the first model and there’s never really been a major revolution in design since Mk3.

Donno why, but i think it looks rather boring especially the rear.

Dunno why but I’m still prefer the old MK5. Still, that rims…needs to be shave off. Yucks! (Maybe my taste is different)

VW cars are great in terms of engineering and quality, owned a MrkII and drove it for 160k miles around the US and was nuts over VW’s. However i’m a little disappointed with the current range’s design, VW cars seems less beautiful nowadays..

Hmm…the Mk6 looks a bit weird to me. Like a lot of ppl here, I think I prefer the Mk5 as well. Need to have a real-world look to be sure though. What I can say is, the Scirocco is the new Golf :p

Yes, I agree that the MK5 looks better. This one looks like its 1 generation before the MK5. Family oriented=dull?

If the Mk6 GTI looks like this, it’s bye bye for VW.

Nice Honda Civic! The 3 door looks like a 1992-95 Civic hatchback especially in profile. They even have the same rear hatch design, even though I’m sure the VWs’ doesn’t split into a tailgate. Google the car (Honda Civic) and see for yourself before you disagree.

Automotive design is spiraling down in quality/originality because companies hire the same designers and don’t want to take risks.

VW, borrow some Porsche designers/engineers or even better hire Lotus or Pininfarina design studios to do the job right.

Personally I think it looks great - typical VW product!

this are only pictures, the car may look better once it hit showrooms

    for example: subaru impreza
