US-market Honda Civic facelift unveiled!

The American market 8th generation Honda Civic which has different styling cues compared to our Asian market Honda Civic has been facelifted and revealed in these brochures scanned by a member of the 8thCivic forums.
The facelifted USDM Civic has a larger, more prominent grille that has a trapezoidal shape. This is obviously to bring the Civic closer to the Jazz, Stream and Accord in terms of “family resemblance” as the other two cars also feature this more angular grille shape. The front bumper looks more muscular while the rear gains a new chrome stripe between the two rear lamps.
Since the USDM Civic has been facelifted, we can expect a similiar refreshment to our Asian market Honda Civic very soon.

The front bumper/airdam looks a bit similar to the JDM Civic Type-R sedan.

Another great design that’s modern, aerodynamic and futuristic. I think this is going to be a winning face lift.

i love the civic but WHY WHY WHY must they drop the classic civic taillights for audi a4 ones????
August 19, 2008 @ 6:53 pm
Correct. I like the current tail lights too. Looks like Acura. This model was actually showcased by Honda when they launched the Civic some time ago as the face lift version.
I have this weird feeling that the current civic looks better than this US one.

DtG, the 8th gen USDM Civic sedan has always had those Audi A4 style taillights.

The current Civic looks futuristic from any angles, but the obstructive A-pillar is something i can’t get used to. Gone are of course the days racy Civics like the old EG and EK models.
Still, no one can blamw Honda for trying to ditch its boy racer image to cater for families and get a share of the Corolla market but i guess they could have toned down a bit.

when is the next generation coming out. The current gen looks horrible.
Cross between sedan and MPV. The dashboard is awful. 2 tier meter Futuristic ….. yeah rite!!!!!. Wake up Honda!!!!!.
Gone are the days of EG & EK. Even ES was not that bad. But FD is fugly.
Look at the new city….. very appealing. Hope Civic also follow simmilar design que.
August 21, 2008 @ 3:40 am
the new city follows the civic design but with some accord euro design cues

what’s the different?face-lifted where?
Our civic are custom made for RM100k+..for u to feel the value, arrogant, typical Chinese>>hao lian(cari muka)..or bigger in size..da fang(generous)?
Europes, others probably 20k x 3.2 = RM60-70k..it’s a bloody common price for them…So Honda market them on sportive and speed..
Ask, will you buy the Europe version at RM100k+?

naah.. for me the current civic is ugly, especially the front. looks like incomplete work. and the tail looks funny too.. this fl version one is better looking all around from outside. in the inside dont know yet. better not emphasis on the digital meter anymore. stupid..
