MCCHIP VW Scirocco: 246hp for 849 Euros

MCCHIP Volkswagen Scirocco

This is probably the cheapest way to get more power out of your Volkswagen Scirocco without any other fluff. A simple chip thats priced at 849 Euros from MCCHIP brings your Volkswagen Scirocco 2.0 TFSI up from 200 horsepower to 246 horsepower and 346Nm of torque. These tuners really make tuning up turbo cars sound so easy!

Of course, if you desire anything more then the MCCHIP demo car here also features a stiffer performance suspension from H&R, 19 inch wheels wrapped with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 235/35ZZR19 tyres, and a performance exhausts system.

I wonder if Volkswagen Malaysia has any plans to offer the Scirocco here. The 2.0 TFSI Scirocco would priced at a premium above the Golf GTI would probably sell, as considering the amount of Mk5 GTIs running around here it’s starting to look boring.

BTW don’t you find it weird that all the demo kitted up Volkswagens from the tuners have so far all been done up in a white colour scheme? I was in Singapore over the weekend and saw a Volkswagen exhibition at Vivo City and all the cars were white too.

White is still the new black!

why should it be sold at a premium when the car is the same price at the gti in UK?

Paul Tan says: That’s just how the product planners work/think here. Look at the Honda Jazz vs Honda City. Anything that doesn’t seem practical (2 door, hatch, etc) they will peg it as a “lifestyle” buy that can carry a premium.

well, for a start, there is a hell of a lot more competition in the UK. They have no reason to make it affordable to the malaysian market, as someone spending 200k for a vw golf GTI is unlikely to be very price sensitive, and a ‘coupe’ being somewhat rare, is likely to be more sought after by people wanting a sub 300k european “sportscar”

white is definitely in. haha jeremy clarkson has been saying this for the past 2-3 years. personally i like white because it provides more contrast and accentuates the colour of the brake/signal lights, detailing etc.

VW Malaysia should bring in the Scirocco. Volvo has already brought in the C30, and Renault has the R26.
Judging from the popularity of the Proton Satria, 2 door models are not ‘lifestyle’ anymore, and therefore should not carry to much of a premium over their 4 door siblings.

    —————————————-

VW as a manufacturer is worried about many things, including longterm durability, warranties, standards., costs, fuel consumption and emissions.. there are just so many things they need think about. the cars are launched somewhat detuned.

most cars that come from the factory from any manufacturer, can always benefit somewhat in terms of power with just a little bit of tuning.

    easy tune up.

as for the colour, it has been proven that White stands out more than black or silver etc. contrast effect is very high.

i like my cars white too, only thing is easy dirty. nvm, wash once a week! lol.
