Audi has launched a new series of Audi A3 and Audi A4 cars with a new turbodiesel powerplant. The new 2.0 litre TDI powerplant makes 170ps, which is 30 extra horses over the previous 2.0 TDI engine which makes 140ps. This extra power is achieved through the use of pieze injector technology.

The 2008 Audi Q5 has been confirmed and production will take place in Ingolstadt, Germany. Before this, the group was deciding where to build the Audi Q5, as there are some qualms about production in Germany due to high labour costs. After all, many manufacturers have turned to China to cut costs as labour there is cheap. However, Audi decided the dedication, experience and ability of it’s German workforce are invaluable assets and they contribute to the final quality of the car.
Audi cars are currently built either in it’s plant in Ingolstadt (A3, A3 Sportback, A4, A4 Avant, TT Coupe, TT Roadster) or another plant in Neckarsulm (A6, A8 and soon the Audi R8), with a total production of 510,416 and 241,710 respectively last year.
The Audi Q5 is a cross-over SUV type of vehicle, much like the Mitsubishi Airtrek and the Subaru Forester built from a car platform instead of an SUV platform. It will use the Audi A4 platform. Engine offerings are likely the 2.0 FSI, 3.2 litre V6, and 2.0 litre TDI turbodiesel units.

This is the much talked about Top Gear Winter Olympics episode, which features plenty of funky fusions of classic winter sports and automobiles. Really good cinematography by my standards anyway. It’s a whole episode, so it’s pretty long. Watch it during lunch hour or at night or something. 
Cars featured: Audi Q7, Volvo XC90, Citroen C1, Jaguar XK8, Land Rover Discovery, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Suzuki Swift, and an old-school MINI Cooper.
Jeremy Clarkson learns how to drive slowly in an Audi A8 powered by a 4.0 litre V8 turbodiesel engine. He puts the car through the challenge of going from London to Edinburgh and back to London again on a single fuel tank of 72 litres (19 gallons). That’s 1287km (800 miles). And he manages to do it. That’s RM92 for 1297km of mileage.
A little performance stats – this Audi A8 is a generation older than the current version and it’s 4.0 TDI twin turbo V8 engine makes 275hp at 3750rpm and 650Nm of torque between 1800 and 2500rpm in classic diesel style. It can do the 0-100km/h sprint in 6.7 seconds.

Here are somemore details on the upcoming new Audi R8 supercar, based on the Le Mans concept above. A quick recap, the car is supposed to come in 2 variants, one with an entry-level high-revving 4.2 V8 making 415hp and 430Nm of torque. The top of the line version features a 5 litre V10 from the Lamborghini Gallardo twin-turbocharged to make 610hp and 745Nm of torque.

Audi already has plans to add a premium SUV smaller than it’s recently launched Audi Q7 called the Audi Q5 to it’s line of new SUVs. The Audi Q5 will compete directly with the BMW X3 and will be based on the A4 sedan’s chassis.

Here’s the first ever on the road spyshots of the Audi R8 supercar which was previously known as the Audi Le Mans concept. The Audi R8 is said to be based on the Lamborghini Gallardo and will come in a normally aspirated V8 making 400 horsepower. as well as a twin turbocharged V10 engine making nearly 600 horsepower.
