BMW UK seems very sure of themselves. Marketing director of BMW UK Uwe Ellinghaus noted that Audi customers are of a similiar age to BMW owners. But he said that if the original is available, why should anyone buy a good copy? It looks like BMW isn’t taking Audi seriously at all.

Ellinghaus considers Mercedes Benz a serious competitor, but generally Mercedes Benz buyers have a different taste from BMW buyers.

Of course, this arrogance is justified. BMW’s expected sales forecoast this year is a huge number of 100,000-110,000 cars.

General Motors Corporation is in trouble lately. It’s market share in the United States is at a 25-year all time low. Sales are down 26% this month compared to October last year.

The troubled car maker, which is the world’s largest automobile manufacturers posted it’s fourth consecutive quarterly loss on Monday. It’s total loss in North America alone has been more thna USD 4.5 billion this year.

I’ve always been in love with Audis. A 90s model Audi A4 is slightly within my financial capabilities these days, but I am a bit put off by the fear of high maintenance. At first glance you might think this is an Audi A8. But the red and platinum badge on the grille gives that away. This is Audi’s BMW M5 killer, the Audi S8. The Audi S8 is a tuned up sporty model of it’s flagship A8 luxury car.

There are rumours going around that Bernama has issued a news flash informing the public that Monday October 24 2005 is a public holiday.

If you receive this rumour, please do not spread it further. Monday is not a public holiday. Bernama is lodging a police report in order to get down to looking who started the rumour.

Another MP has spoken up on the issue of Proton. Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said that Proton has to update it’s models more frequently as with accelerated product releases by other manufacturers these days, their products go out of fashion more quickly.
