Some of the must-watch movies for car enthusiasts would be the Fast and the Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Gone in 60 Seconds. There was even some DVD I watched called “Dead racer”, which was not actually the movie title but somehow Uncle Ho’s minions decided to stamp that on the DVD cover. I never knew the real title to this very day. Some of these car enthusiast movies have horrible storylines and B-grade acting but the hot cars compensate for everything. After exhausting the drag scene in the first two movies, here comes the third installment: The Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift.
The character Gene Kelly from Singing in the Rain is recreated in this advertisement for the Volkswagen Golf. The background song is Frank Sinatra’s Singing in the rain. The video has some funky robot dance moves to it. Kinda like Kollaboration. The remake of the original scene reflects on the Volkswagen Golf being advertised, “the original updated”. I like the concept.
This is the much talked about Top Gear Winter Olympics episode, which features plenty of funky fusions of classic winter sports and automobiles. Really good cinematography by my standards anyway. It’s a whole episode, so it’s pretty long. Watch it during lunch hour or at night or something.
Videos from Dodge’s new series of advertisements for the Dodge Ram. The campaign is known as “Ram Rash”. They really have NOTHING to do with the car it is advertising, but a whole lot different from Volkswagen’s Fast and Un-pimp Your Ride ads. Have a good weekend guys.
Nice video on BMW’s prototype Auto Park system. The narration is in German though, so I don’t really have any idea what they are going on about. But it’s pretty cool watching the 5-series station wagon being parked automatically. Video is after the jump. Also, check out Volvo’s Self Park System developed in collaboration with a Swedish university.
Another Top Gear video - a comparison between the Subaru Impreza, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 and the Audi S4. Japanese rally cars versus a competitor from the marque that originally brought 4WD transmissions to the rallying world. We’ll take a look soon at different transmission systems, I’m still writing that post up. But in the mean while enjoy this video and hope streaming is fast for you.
A 16 minute 17 seconds video of Volkswagen’s Fast campaign for the new Mk5 Volkswagen Golf GTI. Volkswagen says there is a “Fast” in all of us, which explains the adrenaline rush and excitement we get when we’re in rapid acceleration and speed. The GTI is positioned as a fast car for the fast in you, that requires no more modifications or pimping.
The Toyota Aygo is the smallest Toyota yet, marketed in places in the UK as a city car, with the classic city car characteristics like easy parking, great fuel economy, and an affordable price. It shares the same platform as the Peugeot 107 and the Citroen C1, which are basically all rebadges of the same thing. It’s powered by a 1.0 liter 3-cylinder engine making 67 horsepower. Toyota says this engine is the lightest engine ever installed in any modern car, weighing in at only 69kg. Top Gear reviews the Toyota Aygo, and as always they have something interesting in store. Football with a Toyota Aygo. Video is after the jump.
