Proton New Sedan Teaser Video

Gran Turismo 5 for the Playstation 3
Here are some photos and a video of the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 videogame. Be warned, I will not be responsible for the sudden urge to go out and buy a Playstation 3 just so you can play this game when it is released! I must say it looks even more realistic compared to Gran Turismo 3 and 4 which were Playstation 2 titles, thanks to the much higher capabilities of the Playstation 3.
For those not in the know, the Gran Turismo series is widely considered the best driving simulation available for the PlayStation and Playstation 2, and this will be the series’ first title for the PS3. Swedish rock band The Cardigans even named one of their albums after the game, as they played it alot during the album’s recording sessions. They even composed a song for the game titled “My Favourite Game”.
A first for the Gran Turismo series is a realistic in-car view which will accurately follow the design of the production car’s dashboards. Perhaps I shouldn’t say production as cars that are still concepts at this stage (but have production version spyshots though) are included in the game such as the Nissan GT-R. The sweet new Audi R8 is also available for you to trash around the track.

E92 BMW M3 V8 – first drive impressions
BMW is currently having it’s press test drive in Spain this month, unfortunately you won’t be reading a first hand impression on this blog. No worries though, as I’ve heard there are selected Malaysian journalists going on the trip, so you’ll be able to pick up your favourite motoring magazines and most likely read about it next month.
Anyhow, Car Magazine from the UK has already posted their first impression of the new E92 BMW M3 Coupe on their website, so I urge you to go check it out. They even have two professionally shot videos (after the jump) of the car being pushed to the limits on the Spanish countryside as well as what looks like a private open field track. Despite the techno background music, you can still hear the rumble of the V8 pretty clearly.
First impressions:
- A more mature feel instead of the madness of the E46 M3
- Aural experience very different from the previous car because of engine type
- More torque to be desired on the low-end of the rev range
- Noticable understeer, partly because of nature of the custom Michelin tyres
- Noticable body roll, but suspension more comfortable
- Light steering, could be better with more feel and feedback
- Easy to keep the car sideways thanks to M-diff, but car feels less confident doing it
- Comfy interior

Top Gear Caterham Challenge
Top Gear has an interesting challenge here, it’s the trio against The Stig in a race to see who actually manages to start th race. What we have here is The Stig driving from Caterham’s factory to the destination which is a race track, while Jeremy, James and Richard attempt to build their Caterham kit car from scratch at the destination before The Stig arrives. Chery B240 7-seater MPV in Malaysia

UPDATE: Chery Alado launches locally assembled Chery Eastar 7-seater MPV
Alado Automobile has introduced the Chery B240 in Malaysia, another CBU fully imported model for us to consider soon after launching the Chery Tiggo earlier.
The Chery B240 is a 7-seater SUV powered by a 2.4 litre 16 valve SOHC Mitsubishi engine that makes 130 horsepower and 198Nm of torque, likely a similiar unit to the one found in the LMG Trekker, Shuttle, and Tourer. It is mated to a 4-speed gearbox with manual shifting features.
Features include a 6-CD changer audio system, a sunroof, electronic headlamp levelling, a pollen filter for the air conditioning system, dual front airbags, anti-lock disc brakes on all four wheels, electronic brake distribution as well as an option for a stability control program that comes at extra cost.
It costs RM132,972.20 including insurance. No word on how much the version with stability control costs. This 7-seater B240 and the Chery Tiggo SUV were the two models that have been previously reported to be assembled locally in Malaysia soon, perhaps at Proton’s plant using it’s excess production capacity. No word on that as far as I know, and the B240 remains a CBU import for the moment.

Honda Civic Mugen RR – with circuit lap video!

Mugen has put it’s tuning touches on the Honda Civic Type-R sedan, which reduces it’s weight by 10kg and boosts power output of the high revving 2.0 litre i-VTEC engine to 240 horsepower at 8,000rpm – a boost of 15 horsepower. Peak torque of 217Nm is achieved at a high rev range of 7,000rpm.
Other upgraded features include a new Mugen bodykit, upgraded brakes, a new suspension kit, new wheels and tires and Mugen-badged Recaro bucket seats.
The Honda Civic Mugen RR has a limited edition production run – only 300 units will produced, finished in the Milan Red paint you see in these photos.

BMW 135i Coupe Stock Video
BMW has released this promotional stock video of the BMW 135i Coupe that allows us to see all details of the BMW 135i in motion, including the engine bay. Front, side, rear profile, even interior – you’ve got it all! It looks rather like a miniature BMW E92 Coupe, but I just can’t imagine how brutal all that power from BMW’s award winning 3.0 litre twin turbo will make this lighter coupe feel.
