Another day, another video of a vehicle driving against the flow. It’s either this inexplicable (and stupid) action is becoming a trend or it has been happening all the while, but is now being recorded more frequently.
Coming right after the Penang case of the OKU-certified young woman in her Gen2 and yesterday’s black Myvi sighting in Johor is this video, posted on the Penang Kini Facebook page. Said to be have been recorded on Penang Island’s Jalan Masjid Negeri, in front of Penang Free School, it shows a truck (single cab, looks commercial) driving on the fast lane of the opposite side of the road.
When a car approaches the truck, the offending vehicle slams on the brakes and makes a last ditch move to avoid the car, which occupants must have been terrified. It was a narrow escape from what would have been a potentially fatal head-on collision. Thankfully, there were no repeat of the previous incident in Penang, where a man lost his life.
One can never be too careful these days, even when innocently driving on the correct side. We’ll have to be alert, to be able to swiftly move out of the way when faced (literally) with these “lawan arus” drivers. Drive safe.

What is happening this country? Are we going to become like India where there is no regard for any road rules? What have the police done to stop this? I saw a Peugeot 208 driver doing the same thing in another video and then the JB Myvi driver, have these people got caught by the police or is it just another day at the office for pdrm and jpj? And what about the truck driver driving opposite lane and the police driving the inspira did he get caught? I highly doubt it.
