For 2017, authorised Yamaha distributor Hong Leong Yamaha Malaysia, has announced two new colour schemes for the quarter-litre Yamaha YZF-R25 sportsbike – Racing Blue and Matte Black. The recommended basic selling price of the YZF-R25 stays unchanged from 2016 at RM20,630, with GST, and is available at authorised Yamaha dealers immediately.
Using a liquid-cooled parallel-twin with four-valves per cylinder, displacing 249 cc, the R25 produces 35.5 hp at 12,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. With EFI feeding the engine, power gets to the 140/70-17 rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox.
Braking is a single-disc in front grabbed by a dual-piston caliper while a single-piston caliper is installed at the rear. Wet weight for the 2016 Yamaha YZF-R25 is 166 kg, and fuel is stored in the 14.3 litre fuel tank. Seat height is a rider friendly 780 mm.
The previous 2016 colour schemes – blue and matte grey – are now discontinued. Rivals to the Yamaha YZF-R25 locally include the Kawasaki Ninja 250 which retails for approximately RM22,000 excluding GST and the KTM RC250 with ABS, which goes for RM21,081 with GST.

Still no news about cbr 250rr coming to malaysia?
i think that one when sudah obsolete in indon, malaysia will only have it.
Probably, Boon Siew only wants to concentrate on mass volume models…the kapchais and scooters.
Boon siew is a typical businessman.
those models are typically low volumn. and even the “market calls for it”, it is rarely the case of sales success when is launch.
just look at the msx125… the market kept asking it launch. and when is finally here, no many buys it.
they would have to charge more for the CBR250RR. and given that this segment is heavily contested and sensitive to price, additional 5k more over the competitor is not going to work.
The front fork is still traditional. Should have been upside down. No increase in hp??
Lol. Poor motorcyclist big bike. So common on the road nowadays, yet they feel themselves so special when riding one.
Even BMW are common these day. Just to let you know.
Actually, it is not fair to say that it is a poor motorcyclist’s big bike. In all fairness, that bike is pretty quick off the mark (1st gear and 2nd till 3rd is pretty impressive) and has decent handling. I don’t own one but have been chased by one. It is light enough to get around the city with much ease too. Only on outstation rides does the quarter litre feel like it could use more juice (as told to me by my colleague who rides one) but I guess ridden sanely, it is more than adequate for inter-state rides.
Nice bait but shitty one to boot
Oh don’t forget a lot of bmw motorcycle are made in china especially the f650gs, f800gs and the ct scooter made in taiwan
And the brand new 310 which is made in india
Wannabe poser probably don’t even own one
Anybody who think both cars and bike, BMW,Audi or VW are made in Germany must be a fool
Common coz they are cheap and great in performance.. bmw will fall down on the road too. Dont be too cocky..
R25 is good good bike. No problem..always ride long distance. To SaifulBMW..palui ko ya..
Bring in R15!
Wah so good this is what we called ‘facelift’ the Malaysia way.
Fabulous P2 started this trend.
Paint lift!
Nothing special.. color only. Cbr250r was a product killer for 250cc in term of design and technologies.
when is the Aerox coming?
Asian bike models r the best. value for money.not like european bikes.maybe better but overated.
