The Kia Stinger makes its Asian premiere at the 2017 Seoul Motor Show today, with the Korean carmaker divulging an important piece of info about its stunning, four-door gran turismo machine – its 0-100 km/h time.
During its global debut at the start of 2017, Kia targeted a 0-100 km/h time of just 5.1 seconds for the Stinger. However, Kia has revealed that the Stinger will actually complete the century sprint in just 4.9 seconds, making it the fastest-accelerating car the company has ever produced. To put that into perspective, a BMW M3 accomplishes the same feat in 4.1 seconds.
Of course, this level of performance is only available on Stinger variants fitted with the 3.3 litre Lambda II twin-turbo V6 engine. The mill churns out 365 hp at 6,000 rpm and 510 Nm from 1,300 to 4,500 rpm, which also makes the Stinger the most powerful Kia ever.
A less powerful version of the Stinger comes with a smaller 2.0 litre turbocharged Theta engine with 255 PS at 6,200 rpm and 353 Nm from 1,400 to 4,000 rpm. European models will be offered with a 2.2 litre turbodiesel, and the Stinger will be available with a choice of rear-wheel and all-wheel drive, the former being a first for a Kia sedan.
Excited? Well, we were told by Naza Kia Malaysia chief operating officer Datuk Samson Anand George back in February that he is “confident” that the company will be able to bring in the Kia Stinger soon. Company head Nazman S.H.C Yusof also echoed the same notion, although he added that it will have to depend on the demand and legibility.

Wow, Kia can come out with such a powerful car? I wonder what our Proton engineers are doing? Sleeping?

hard work really pays off. No point being lazy
Its meaningless to work hard at being a copycat.
Rants and rants. Anything original?
BMW front? You blind bruv?
OMG… Maserati wanabe… orean copy cat!
Many pipu dream of Volvo XC90 but can only afford Honda CRV lookalike.
Well done, this represents that KIA really have tha capable to make a super sports car, bravo.
You don’t need Lotus people, or need to own Lotus to develop a sports car or saloon.
But they still hire somebody to lead the ride and handling of this car, namely Albert Biermann
The Stinger is not really a sports car much less a super sports car but it does have high performance specs. In any case it would be nice to see them on our roads.
I notice the logo is weird.. what logo is that?
No RV unless its Lexus.
Look at how far the Korea companies has come, and then there’s our beloved Proton, still want to pilih pilih when Geely almost opt out from the bidding.
Learn the economies of scale
Hope KIA will produce the hardcore model for this Stinger like the BMW M4,Audi RS5, and Cadillac ATS-V
handles better than ur audi
just ask yourself, how many times japanese, korean cars won in any race…and even so…are the drivers in Japanese or Koreans? sad but true…
Why KIA not put the ice cube style DRL for the Stinger because that is one of the new symbol or signature for the Kia brand like the BMW with it’s angel light design DRL
CKD Mesia 150k.
I’d sell my a250 i get the stinger.. If the price is right
* Kia K900 has more power (420 BHP) and equal torque.
Downhill + tailwind = 4.9 secs, YES!
I just want the 2.0l version, please bring it!
Nice looking overall. Butt a bit weird, missing wing?
The Koreans are really proving themselves to be a reputable car manufacturer. They did NOT sit on their laurel when they make around 8 million & exported all over the world but instead embark on making a presence in World Rally Championship & now a performance sedan to boot.
Give them another 5 years, they will churn out higher performance cars to rivals the likes of AMG & BMW M division. Be afraid Japanese & Germans, be very afraid.
Yea… all K5 / Optima can upgrade to this thing.
Front like BMW = Toyota 86:)
No la this copied Quadra-fugly-ooooohh
