Weststar Malaysia has officially launched the new Maxus G10 SE, which is a new variant of the large MPV that made its debut last year.
What sets the G10 SE apart from the standard model are enhancements to the MPV’s aesthetics and a revised equipment list. The former sees the adoption of a full body kit inclusive of front and rear bumpers, side skirts and a roof spoiler. Also new here are the automatic sliding doors, which come with an anti-squeeze feature for added safety. Rounding off the list of exterior changes is a set of 18-inch aluminium alloy wheels (shod with 225/55 tyres).
Everything else about the exterior remains unchanged from the standard G10, with HID xenon headlights (with LED DRLs), LED taillights, front electric sunroof and chrome door handles coming as standard. Inside, the most noticeable change is the massive 15-inch head unit, which is actually split into a more moderately-sized touchscreen and smaller screen for the digital clock. Elsewhere, there’s dark leather trim for the dashboard, matched with marble-like trim.
As a people mover, the G10 SE’s 10 seats are arranged in a 2-3-2-3 layout, which is the same as before, except the seats are upholstered in black/brown leather and in a slightly different design. The third-row bench can be folded (60:40 split) to provide more cargo space if needed, while the second-row bench (also 60:40 split) and third row individual seats can be slid forwards and back.
The rest of the equipment list includes keyless entry and start, a multifunction steering wheel, 360-degree camera (new), cruise control, multi-info display in the instrument cluster, rear ceiling-mounted air-con vents and 220-volt power supply.
Safety wise, the G10 SE is equipped with two airbags, ABS (with EBD and brake assist), electronic stability program (ESP), traction control and tyre pressure monitoring system. You’ll also find Isofix child seat anchors on the second- and third-row seats.
Under the hood, the 2.0 litre turbocharged GDI engine is retained, offering 225 hp at 5,500 rpm and 345 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The four-cylinder mill is paired to a six-speed ZF automatic transmission, sending drive to the rear wheels.
So, how much for all this opulence? Well, the G10 SE is priced at RM153,412 on-the-road without insurance, which is inclusive of a three-year warranty. Buyers will get to choose from three exterior body colours – Obsidian Black, Blanc White and Aurora Silver.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Kia Carnival. Fullstop
This is considered junk. Their sales were so low every MAA monthly announcement. RM153k for a toilet.
Wait till real China cars come into Malaysia via Geely and charge RM70k for the same thing. Hail Geely! Thank you China!
RM70k rather buy Exora
At one time, westar boasts of the biggest charter helicoptor fleet for oil n gas sector. What happened?
Now bringing in this cina apek vehicle for rm 153K?
Only fools will spend such big amount of Rm .
There are better alternatives than this .
Decent looking, decently specified in terms of toys but come on, where are the airbags. that is disappointing already
Lel, 2 airbags in RM153k MPV?
2 airbags at this price point? good luck with that
2 airbags? What is our kerajaan doing? Don’t they care for the rakyat to put laws that say what minimum airbags a car company should give?
Nope. Gov cant set how many airbags is needed. This is capitalism free market country after all.
get a kia carnival wt its full safety kits at that price!
2 airbags at this price point? good luck with that.
Two airbags for a massive mpv like this????!!
Mahalnya!
Seriously good looking inside out, value for money and decently equipped. I would buy it without second thought.
China car > All
But toyota salesmen here says RV > all wor…
This one is vellfire killer. U r dead Toyota. Oops, I forgot. UMW does not sell this unless one have 700k to spend.
This is unsafe vehicle. Crash test carried out on the original
Buick MPV which Maxus G10 is based on showed flawed frontal structures under impact.
Didn’t know 1970 had such advanced infotainment system.
Geely Malaysia should have rebadged this as the next Exora
Fwd not good for this big size mpv.long run will damage the front drive shaft.
Small cars like city and vios also suffer front drive shaft problem too
Gila lawa….. Road tax 2.0 pun murah. Mmmmmm leh beli ni….. Minyak pun dah murah….. Thanks PDAM…… Menjaga masyarakat ketika minyak murah. Uwekkkkkkk…..
Arinie minyak naik. Uwekkkkkkk…..
15xk? Mainland China brand? Who want to buy?
Ur target monthly sales?or perhaps yearly sales?
R these morons or whoever think they can turn upside down Malaysian mindset, should read Paultan daily or do some serious research or else they should think to close shop right after the launching event.sigh
Consider to deal with gov and ask them to let u sell it under 100k, which is still relevant for Chinese brand. Jangan berangan disiang hari
It’s still so much cheaper than the “X” spec alphard/vellfire, which has basically nothing except for the brand.
Agreed. They only sell brand
China good what all Chinese say good ma, event deep inside they know they only hardworking with low quality.
Pls do review between the Maxus and the Grand Carnival.
“Please checking around”
aduh.. My eyes..
premium priced china brand car? O.o
You mentioned “The four-cylinder mill is paired to a six-speed ZF automatic transmission, sending drive to the front wheels.” but one of your undercarriage picture can clearly see a rear differential block. Should it be rear wheel drive?
You are sharp man. I went back and actually saw it.
Should be rear wheel drive or very unlikely, AWD.
Yes, you are right. Thank you for pointing it out.
The poor man’s Vellfire/Alphard has arrived!!
rather buy exora. sell 100k also buy exora.
Overall specs with that price tag is nothing wrong. The only thing to worry is the durability and after sales service.
