August 2017 week three fuel prices – petrol up again

It’s time once again for another mid-week fuel price announcement, and after several weeks of unfavourable updates, it’s a mix of good and bad news this time around.

From tomorrow, August 17, RON 95 petrol will be priced at RM2.15 per litre (up three sen from RM2.12 per litre last week), while RON 97 petrol is priced at RM2.43 per litre (up four sen from RM2.39 per last week).

As for Euro 2M diesel, it retails at the pump for RM2.04 per litre (down two sen from RM2.06 per litre last week) this week, while Euro 5 diesel will go for RM2.14 per litre (down two sen from RM2.16 per litre last week). These prices take effect from 12.01am until August 23, when the next round of fuel prices will be announced.

This is the 21st weekly fuel pricing update since the system’s implementation on March 30. Compared to March 2017 prices, which was before weekly pricing took effect, RON 95 is down by 15 sen (from RM2.30 per litre), RON 97 by 17 sen (RM2.60 per litre) and Euro 2M diesel is down by 16 sen (RM2.20).

Seriously, the heck is this? The petrol price shouldn’t be up anymore. The ringgit is not falling as badly against other currencies. this is robbery.

Bro, i think u missed one small detail about the part where crude oil has to be refined first to get ron95… sure, crude price drop yesterday… but the ron95 arriving at petrol stations between tomorrow and next wensday was produced using crude priced at last week’s price… unless you pump crude oil into your car la… then i stand corrected.

nobody missed that. It is common sense we quote for Ron 95 cause last week or last month or today, it is refined ron 95 we are talking about and that is based on crude oil.

There is no logic to jack up price.
So,if goes on like this, paultan no need publish the price changes.WE pump a day before it rises.
        Just shambolic.

Bila naik dipersalahkan kerajaan. Bila turun kenapa tak puji kerajaan? Ada yg dah turun. Kangkung dulu naik sekarang ni dah turun.

Naik harga pun harga minyak kita masih antara yg terendah di dunia. Puji kerajaan sikit, syukur sikit. Kalau rasa mahal tak payah beli minyak.

We are overpaying gomen by about 70 sen per litre. According to Global prices, ron 95 should be around RM1.40 to RM1.50

calculate that with 10 million motorist. Gomen makes billions extra

but yet universities and schools got no funding and hospitals have cut back medicine.

Same with durian naik harga this season why?… they rather sell to foreigners and get profit than sell cheap to local for rakyat to enjoy. Petrol sell outside follow global ‘market price’ like durian now follow global ‘market price’ because our ringgit so small, we need to pay RM 55 per kg which for a Singaporean is only Sing Dollar 17.50. Does the government have any plans to step up the value of our ringgit so overall we pay less for oil?

This whole new pricing mechanism is a big joke !!! It muddies the water and confuses the end user. It’s like a game of roulette. Anyway, we should be grateful that the price of petrol is cheaper than Singapore & Thailand. From historical data, it would seem that the price drops just before a ‘major’ festival.
