News regarding the new Perodua Myvi have been coming in thick and fast this week – we had initial details and pricing of the third-generation model on Wednesday, and then Perodua gave a sneak preview of the car yesterday. Now, the national carmaker has provided a launch date, slated for November 16 – that’s next Thursday!
Already open for booking, the car will be priced starting from RM44,300 for the 1.3 Standard G manual and RM46,300 for the automatic, rising up to RM48,300 for the 1.3 Premium X and RM51,800 for the 1.5 High. The range-topping 1.5 Advance retails at RM55,300. Prices are on-the-road without insurance, inclusive of a five-year/150,000 km warranty.
All new from the ground up, the new Myvi is the first car designed without the assistance of parent company Daihatsu, so externally it bears no resemblance to the Boon/Toyota Passo on which it’s based. The new D20N is longer and wider but lower than before, and Perodua claims a 973 mm tandem distance (distance between the front and rear passengers) and an ‘8+1 flexible seating arrangement’ (layouts, not seats).
Power comes from new 1.3 and 1.5 litre engines from the Toyota NR family with DOHC and Dual VVT-i. The smaller 1NR-VE is the same engine found on the Bezza, and it makes 94 hp at 6,000 rpm and 121 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm on the sedan. The larger 2NR-VE, on the other hand, has been lifted from the Toyota Vios, and there it produces 106 hp at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm.
Eco Idle automatic engine start/stop is fitted on the 1.3 Premium X and up, and transmission options include a five-speed manual (1.3 Standard G only) and a four-speed electronically-controlled automatic (E-AT). With the aerodynamic improvements introduced on the new car, the Myvi is now capable of fuel consumption as low as 20.1 km per litre on the 1.5L auto, significantly lower than the outgoing model’s 15.4 km per litre.
Kit count is impressive for such an affordable car, with all models getting LED headlights (with halogen positioning lamps, auto-off and follow-me-home lighting), keyless entry, push-button start, 60:40 split-folding rear seats and reverse sensors. Alloy wheels measuring 14 inches come as standard, with the 1.5 litre models gaining 15-inch items, along with a dual-tone bodykit, a rear spoiler and an integrated SmartTAG reader.
But it’s the safety kit that takes the cake – standard items include four airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC); the 1.5 litre models gain curtain airbags to bring the total airbag count to six. Perodua is targeting a five-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating across the range.
The 1.5 Advance goes one better with the introduction of Advance Safety Assist (ASA) suite of driver assists, including Pre-Collision Warning and Braking, Front Departure Alert (warns when the car in front has moved ahead at a traffic light or jam) and Pedal Misoperation Control.
Six colours are available, and they are Lava Red, Mystical Purple, Glittering Silver, Ivory White, Granite Grey (1.5 only) and Peppermint Green (1.3 only). The latter two are new colours. The full breakdown of spec and equipment between all variants can be found below.

Iriz is much better value than this Myvi. I hope everyone here supports Proton cause Proton is our National car maker. We need to help the company stay alive.
Remember Proton is our national heritage. Perodua is celup Jepunis overlords and is not tulen Malaysian company like Proton.
Throw money support proton for what. Low quality. National maker or not, we pay whats worth.
Tahniah Kipidap to Perodua!
Sure another 1 million Myvi big sales for next 10 years!
Big sales, big profits no need to keep asking RM1.5 billion donation loan from govt!
Truly the love of nation, kereta kesayangan rakyat, bersama jaga alam sekitar jimatkan petrol!!

Yup. Let us fellow Malaysians combine all car buying power & support P1. Pity them reali.
This year, sales of Perodua is over 200,000. Next year, I won’t be surprised if it touches 300,000
Bravo Perodua! You have done so well despite NOT having orders from
1) Government Departments
2) Ministries
3) PDRM
4) Bomba
5) TUDM, TLDM dan Angkatan Tentera
6) All local Universities
7) Kastam
8) Immigresion
etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc
Where is the jealous people who like to say Biza got no testing and all Perodua cars got no testing? They are all hiding now.
Cause this Myvi is going to create history. So much of demand and interest. FB posting alone got few thousand people commenting. This is a record. PT FB posting getting thousands of comments mean Myvi is hot
And all the comments are positive!

is ok, they desperately want to win p2 in any way. as if like dislike count will translate into sales LOL!!!
No bots here bro…
Ive never seen likes and dislikes reaching the thousands before, not sure to be impressed or what
I suspect that one person have more than 6200 of dislikes, it shows that it show disrespectful and very snobbish to Honda and Kia.
Sorry I forgot to put the word of ‘dislikes’
Hw u cn get more than 7k …
Hope the manual gearbox is slick, smooth, short throw and not notch, irritating …..

zaman dulu Kura kura menang rabbit…zaman kini Sang kancil menang tiger. Hahah
The perodua cars look more solid than proton cars, my kancil was using nearly 20 years, still in good condition, without any overhaul at all.
Old and new p1 cars still running on road
20 years ago your car got 6 airbags, VSA, etc?
Dah buat road test tak? Tak nampak spyshot pun. Jangan buyer kena macam2 problem lepas beli!
Recall je ape susah.. janji ride & handling mcm sampan..
Betui Myvi.. skrg musim hujan banjer adak sampan pon baguih gak. 6airbag, vsc, 1 famili selamat..
Perodua ada sendiri punya road test litar/track… tak payah show off kat jalan atau pun takut paparazi spyshot… macam macam jenis punya jalan ada kat dalam…
Perodua diam2 ubi berisi. dari P1 hoohah2 mintak sedekah…
Patut la handling cam sampan
Kui kui kui
Most of the produa do not need road test in Malaysia as they are rebadge from Toyota or Daihatsu model. It is well tested elsewhere. So just bring in here and run.
U mean untested myvi, yikes
Perodua did not doing actual road test.. Consumer will do the rest.. Cut cost in RnD so consumer can buy cheaper..
Habis nak macam Proton? Road test sampai ke Australia, Ireland….. tapi kereta tak terjual.
Jual company adalah sampai 2 kali dalam 5 tahun.
We talked about car not company
This means that the previous myvi is totally overpriced lmao
Negative people will always find a way to show the negative stuff even they are in a very positive situation. Pity you.
Liddis when P1 gonna payback pipu $2.5B hutang?
It is a fact. Do swallow the reality. Pity to those 1 million buyers.
Myvi Mk1 and MkII perodua needs to pay more in royalties because using daihatsu body shell. For this MkIII myvi p2 using only platform and power train. Body is all new so less royalties paid. Its like when Proton introduced Waja, its cheaper than wira 1.6
Is it really based on a passo? The size and shape are much more closer to a toyota auris than a passo.
CnP Auris
According to pt.org previous articles, it is 99.9% developed by perodua in-house, and using the platform of the AXIA.
This is 2nd Perodua car developed without a Daihatsu/ Toyota base model (1st is BEZZA). So it’s not based on a DAIHATSU BOON.
But I think it’s not coincidence that the all new MYVI looks like some other model in some way, eg. the TOYOTA AURIS and TOYOTA ALTIS.
Makin jem la jlnraya kena myvi baru nih nnt.
Auris 2018 tnga platform?
This car will set a benchmark for every new car buyer’s purchase decision in this segment. This is good for consumers. All the other car makers esp. the Japs will have to offer a lot more now. Well done Perodua !
From side and dashboard much similar with auris….
This car based on Auris… 90% but Auris so smart to compared with nice head and tail lamps….Fully LED main panel… minor dashbord modyfied… but so funny perodua claimed upper body designed 100% in perodua facility… wind screen almost 100% equal to Auris… please dont bullshit malaysian
You cannsay it is tin milo veraion of auris coz it is much lighter than 1.3tonne auris
Proton Saga is that u?
Macam copy paste edit depan belakang
Corolla iM
Looks like it has Axia-Looks DNA. Overall it seems to be a significant improvement in terms of appearance. Equipment and engine specs look good too. Good job Perodua/Daihatsu/Toyota.
Toyota is known for old outdated dinosaur technology. Come on dude, move forward, put in a 1 liter turbocharged engine, or heck, if you don’t wanna turbo charge it, at least put a direct injection engine. Don’t waste money buying Toyota. No one is buying their Altis and Camry, it is so outdated and underpowered. Toyota is surviving because of the vios and hilux.
Put in turbo hybrid engine pls, 40km/l
Mr.Paultan, may i know, did the Perodua Myvi had done the crash test yet? as they state above, the myvi are based on Asean Ncap. I really want to see how well this safety work. I had look the Asean Ncap youtube but only see the older one..thank you.^^
Why no spy shot and testing in Malaysia? I am sure it is still a Daihatsu/Toyota design and tested in Japan with Japanese made engine.
