Honda HR-V facelift rendered – new LED lights, grille

It’s hard to believe that the HR-V is nearing three-years old, having debuted here in Malaysia in February 2015. Just last week though, a partially masked unit of the popular B-segment crossover was spotted making rounds in Petaling Jaya, signalling that a facelift is coming, and soon.

Based on the two photos, Indonesia Automotive Design went straight to the drawing board to give us a glimpse of how the updated HR-V could look like, and it sure does look good! The biggest change here is the design of the headlamps, now featuring the familiar LED reflectors first seen on the top-spec Civic, as well as the facelifted Accord and City.

Also inspired by the Civic is the new chrome strip spanning the width of the bonnet, adding more emphasis to the slimmer headlamps. The same goes for the front grille – it’s slimmer too, although the whole piece is made of a single material, unlike the chrome-on-plastic version we have today. Seen below it are six horizontal slats, stacked in cascading effect.

On the whole, what do you think of this rendering – do you think it looks better then the current version? Share your thoughts with us below.

      • Diff market segments. Boyue is a much bigger car that some HRV owners thinks is too big for them.

Hopefully DRB and Honda Malaysia bring the Hybrid version into Malaysia like Singapore does.

Then it can benefit from Hybrid tax deductions given by LHDN like the BMW X5 from RM590k to RM388k

This HRV Hybrid will be RM90k if we can get tax incentive.

Will Honda Malaysia do it? Or will they be allowed to do it?

the biggest problem is how the dealers entertain the claims. some OK, but some not so good. servicing can be done on weekends but claims only on week days.

The total package of the currently HRV are almost spot on. IMO, the top spec HRV with the projectors Led are of better quality compare to the reflectors item found in the Civic.

My only gripe is Honda can/should make the interior plastics of better quality(softer touch materials).

yup the civic reflector gives off a terrible light distribution. its all over the place. no proper cut off line like the current HRV.

Why modern cars have no side protective long strips anymore?
Open door hit the car next to it causing spot dents etc.

  • The current Honda fronts are fussy and ugly. If it looks like that, the old one is prettier for sure! Also they desperately need to replace the noisy 1.8 with 1.5 turbo. Otherwise forget it!
