Fabulous car. Solid in and out. The torque is incredible for N/A. Was in the short list. But wait for the cx8 to come to BolehLand first or the new SkyActiv X product line

Do you really save with Diesel when

        1) price of diesel higher than petrol
        2) price of car about RM40k more than petrol
        3) 3 year old diesel CX5 will be 30% cheaper than the petrol CX5. Say RV for 3 yr old petrol is RM90k, the diesel will be RM60k

So, besides high diesel prices you already lose RM70k (original price of car plus RV resale)

        • It’s not about saving money. It’s about the oodles of torque. If you want to save money, buy a honda.

Europe and the world phasing out Diesel cause toxic. So Japs dump their dirty diesel cars to Malaysia.

They sneakily spec the diesel highest to entice you.

But diesel confirmed to be toxic

  • Test drove this and the CR-V: My 2 cents, no offence to anyone:
    CX-5
Nice to drive, sharp handling, beautiful interior/exterior and excellent built quality overall. Sadly, low resale value and parts are quite expensive.
    CR-V
Nice to drive but a bit dull. No sharp handling and cheapskate Alor Gajah built quality.Interior quality is still very poor since all the previous CR-Vs. High resale value and looks much nicer than all the previous ugly models.

I just realized that Mazda Malaysia build the car here and export to Thailand. Of course they only receive the 2.0 (petrol) and 2.2 (diesel). BUT, there are 2 variants (TWO) that received full iActiveSense (including Mazda Radar Cruise Control, MRCC). Here, in our country we are forced to opt for the Diesel since that is the only variant that comes with the MRCC. Bye2 CX-5, hello CR-V with ACC, LSF, LKAS that centre the car within a lane. LKAS in Mazda just assist you when u accidentally leave the lane. No wonder OpenPilot does not support Mazda but Honda.
