February 2018 week three fuel prices – 10/12 sen down

It’s the final Wednesday before Chinese New Year, and there’s good news for those who will be criss-crossing Malaysia back to hometowns near and far – after the increases in previous weeks, petrol and diesel prices are down, and by some margin too.

From tomorrow, February 15, the price of RON 95 petrol will be RM2.23 per litre (down 10 sen from RM2.33 per litre last week), while RON 97 will go down 11 sen to RM2.50 per litre for the coming week (RM2.61 per litre last week).

As for diesel, Euro 2M will be priced at RM2.19 (down 12 sen from RM2.31 per litre last week), while Euro 5 diesel will go for RM2.29 (previously, RM2.41 per litre). These prices will be in effect until February 21, when the next fuel price adjustment will be announced.

This week’s fuel price announcement is the 47th since the weekly system took effect at the end of March 2017. The current price of RON 95 petrol is seven sen lower (from RM2.30 per litre) than at the start of the programme, while RON 97 is down ten sen (from RM2.60). Diesel, meanwhile, is one sen lower than it was then (from RM2.20 per litre).

Whether petrol goes up or down does not matter. We Malaysians have already prepaid RM3.00 per litre with our super high car prices.

Malaysia has the most expensive car prices in the world and each Malaysians have already prepaid RM3.00 for the next 20 years.

Brent crude tumbled from 69 to 62
that is > 10% drop. Yet our fuel price is lowered by a mere 10 sen.
Mana fuel price calculation mechanism ?

syiok sendiri comment. It is obvious that when we compare prices, we talk about refined oil.

When shawal talk about crude tumbling, the refined or processed oil also correspondingly tumbles.

10% drop means it should have dropped 23.3 sen.

Also, it should also drop by more, say 30 sen, cause Ringgit has gone up against the USD so much
