Perodua sales scam – automaker urges buyers to be cautious when making vehicle purchase transactions

Perodua is urging the public to be cautious when making vehicle purchase transactions involving its vehicle models in order to avoid becoming victims of a scam.

The announcement by the company was made following the recent arrest of a suspect in connection with a scam involving the sale of Perodua cars. The man apparently posed as a Perodua sales representative to ‘sell’ Perodua vehicles on a popular online marketplace portal, and walked away with tens of thousands of ringgit from unsuspecting victims.

Perodua Sales MD Datuk Dr Zahari Husin said the company as well as affected parties have lodged a police report on the matter and the automaker is extending its full cooperation to the relevant authorities.

He said the scam involved the sale of new Perodua vehicles as well as Perodua pre-owned vehicles (POV). He advised the public to not make payments to individual accounts, as the standard operating procedure is to make payments directly to Perodua Sales or its authorised dealers. He added that all customers must insist on original receipts when making any payments.

“We would also like to inform the public that at present, genuine Perodua-certified POV cars are only available for sale at our Perodua Kuala Lumpur outlet, which is located along Jalan Pahang,” he said.

Perodua POV officially opened for business in October 2017, offering affordable pre-loved Perodua vehicles up to seven years old that have been 165-point-checked and refurbished by Perodua themselves. The cars come with up to 18 months’ extended warranty for the engine and transmission.

Paultan, can u highlight to the sleeping authorities numerous blatant acts of false advertising of for eg,Perodua Axia at Rm30K(1 litre auto)…..
How is that possible for a car costing nearly Rm37000?…You mean Saudi santa is subsidising Rm 7K for an Axia?
The authorities have the power to act,but choose the easy way…relax…take it easy. Just pathetic.
The scam is due to false advertising using very absurd n low pricing.
See how naive Bolehland people, can fall for such tricks.

it could be a year-old make without GST and on-road costs that’s why it’s listed cheaper than usual.

usually happens when people look at discount only.

salespeople react to what buyers want.

buyers want discount, all sorts of shit come out.

0 downpayment la, mark up la, discount with free gifts la, free license plate la, free tinted la etc etc.

Thant one ok lagi as you know i know, salesperson want your VSO only even if they post an ‘unimaginable’ bombastic offers and rebates.

For manual car enthusiast, even worse, they are really in sorry plight already (don’t tell me traffic jam lah or all sorts of stupid excuse yet still want a manual car. If congested area esp downtown area, i rather use LRT/MRT public transport)

buyers want manual version, all sorts of shit reply come out.

kepala bapak kau la, why you still want a manual car, stupid fella.

Another reason but this one is really strong reason not to buy a new car, particularly this car manufacturer, simply ditching out water temperature gauge in their ‘brand new’ cars.
