RON 97 petrol price down six sen this week – RM2.60

We’re into the second week of floated RON 97 petrol prices now, and it has come down by six sen to RM2.60 per litre, from last week’s RM2.66. The new price will take effect from midnight till June 20.

Since it came to power, the Pakatan Harapan government has decided to maintain RON 95 petrol and diesel prices, which remain at RM2.20 and RM2.18 per litre (for Euro 2M, Euro 5 is 10 sen costlier), respectively.

Maintaining prices means subsidising, as global oil prices have been on the rise of late. Finance minister Lim Guan Eng said last week that the government is subsidising 33 sen for every litre of RON 95 and diesel at their current prices. Without the subsidy, pump prices for RON 95 and diesel would have been RM2.53 and RM2.51 per litre, respectively.

The government has allocated RM3 billion until the end of 2018 to finance the subsidy and to maintain the retail pump price of RON 95 and diesel for the rest of the year.

Reintroducing fuel subsidies was part of Pakatan Harapan’s manifesto. Council of Eminent Persons head Tun Daim Zainuddin said that a proposal on fuel subsidy reforms will be presented to PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as soon as this week.

Very good our new Clean Government. Everything also go down in price.

I am so happy I voted a clean Government in and kicked out a highly corrupt regime.

Thank you for giving us cheaper prices.

‘The price of ‘ikan rakyat’ will continue to rise if the government does not introduce measures’. Even fish prices have risen! What’s this lie about things becoming cheaper? How often do the rakyat buy car without GST? Everyday?

We know 97 is pricey. However we also need to know that the price of 97 set by gvt is basically to aim to those financially strong.

At this going rate, it’ll be end October before it can reach the magical PH promise of Rm1.50/liter, provided it must CONTINUOUSLY DROP AT LEAST 6sen EVERY WEEK for the next 18 WEEKS.

Anything less or if it goes up, then we know its Manifesto Dicapati.

Already in Gomen, but still giving excuses left right and center. We didn’t vote them in to give excuses, we voted them in to fulfill their promises to us, the RAKYAT MALAYSIA!

Stop the excuses! Stop the delays! Give us the promised Rm 1.50/liter petrol NOW!

for those who can afford, can pump ron97 and help the country debt burden. Leave the ron95 for those who are need. that’s help to channel the right financial assistance to the right people who needs it.

remember, this is not about being discriminating but everyone can do their part to help the nation.

Those who still drives 20th century old junk, or tricked into buying or impulsively bought the certain car it’s engine required ron97 and above only doesn’t has the luxury to pump ron95. New car buyers should take effort do some market research on which car they intended to buy wisely and don’t get brainwashed by car salesperson or peer pressure at the end regret the car can only run on ron97 and above only…

RON97 is floated, so if RON97 price is decreased this means that oil price is also decreased, and this includes RON95. Then why RON95 price is not decreased. Who gets the balance?

gov is in a lose-lose situation. if RON95 is close to market price, people will complain expensive. if RON95 is discounted a lot, people will complain smuggling, foreigners come in pump cheap petrol etc.
