GALLERY: 2018 Perodua Alza facelift – Advance, SE

Perodua debuted the 2018 Alza facelift last week, and the refresh introduces a number of exterior and interior revisions to the seven-seater compact MPV.

Only the SE and Advance variants feature the external remodelling, which is minor – changes at the front are made up of a new front bumper with a larger lower intake, a new twin-bar grille, repositioned fog lamps as well as the inclusion of parking sensors, while the rear features a sportier looking bumper with a redesigned diffuser and new tailgate garnish.

The update also introduces a new titanium finish for the 15-inch alloy wheels as well as a new exterior colour called Granite Grey, again only for the SE and Advance. The latter joins Electric Blue, Mystical Purple, Glittering Silver and Ivory White in the colour line-up.

Standard kit on all four variants (Standard manual and auto, SE and Advance) include front fog lamps, a rear spoiler, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, solar and security window film and reverse sensors.

No changes to the mechanicals, the Alza retaining the use of a 1.5 litre 3SZ-VE DVVT engine, which is paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission. Safety kit includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist along with Isofix child seat points in the middle row.

Inside, the Alza gets a new-look centre cluster, redesigned instrument panel graphics and a two-motion remote control key, a single press unlocking the driver’s door and a double-press unlocking all the doors. Air-conditioning efficiency has also been improved, with the flow to the third row now better thanks to new fixed fins between the front centre air vents, an improved evaporator and enhanced heat-exchange piping.

The Standard and SE variants feature a new audio system with USB and Bluetooth functionality, while the Advance now comes with new-design leather seats, a roof-mounted monitor and an Android-based touch-screen multimedia system with Smart Link, Bluetooth, navigation and a reverse camera.

Prices for the 2018 Perodua Alza facelift start from RM51,490 for the Standard MT and RM54,290 for the Standard AT. The SE, meanwhile, goes for RM56,890, while the range-topping Advance is priced at RM62,690, all on-the-road without insurance.

Perodua sales figures speak for themselves. 220,000 per year vs 50,000 by Proton.

Proton was 200,000 in 2010. But it has dropped to 50,000 now. And this is despite Government ordering the bulk of the 50,000 sales for Ministries and Government Departments

Pembeli bukan pilih rebadge ke build from sketch ke. Yang pembeli nak, reliable & build quality yang baik. Itulah punca Alza lebih laku dari Exora.

        Exora-luas, enjin turbo, stabil, selesa.
        Alza-ruang cukup2, enjin N/A 1.5 dvvt, abs, MPV kompak.

ikut di atas kertas, Exora lebih baik, malah harga tak jauh beza. Tetapi kenapa Alza tetap jadi pilihan pembeli untuk MPV kompak?

Proton cars are safer but useless company, that is why sales lingkup. Malaysians all buy Perodua because at least it uses Daihatsu and Toyota engine. Still reliable

Proton cars use useless Campro and now even worse, use China engines.

The problem is corruption in our previous Government. Our previous Government had shares and ownership of all the car companies in Malaysia. BMW is Sime, Hyundai is Sime, Ford is Sime, Toyota is UMW, Honda is DRB

So, the Government could not act neutral and demand car companies to give rakyat 6 airbags, VSC and other safety specs as standard.

So for over 20 years we had very low spec cars and Malaysians suffered many fatal accidents because our cars had only 2 airbags.

Hopefully the New Government will bring about change in all this. The old Government did not bother pushing car companies to give rakyat cheap cars and higher spec cars because the owned the car companies

Car maintenance, tyre care, speed limits, defensive driving all need to be considered. To say that people die because of two airbag cars is like saying all Malaysians are stupid because on fler says 2 airbags = people die.

As I told you, Only fool people will buy lousy Honda quality with Honda models designs look like donkey design and Honda models designs looks like outdated and ugly as well as Honda service quality is very terrible and even Honda assembly quality is very terrible too for all Honda models. Only smart and clever people will buy Proton, Mazda, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, Kia and Volvo with Proton design, Mazda design, BMW design, Mercedes design, Toyota design, Kia design and Volvo design looks beautiful, well-designed, more attractive, more fashionable, more stylish and more elegant as well as Service quality and assembly quality for Proton, Mazda, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, Kia and Volvo is improving, well progressed and well maintained

Better buy P2. The company is run well. Buy P1, the car might be like the company…auta. The product is always like the management…old saying

Sister site carbase has had a showroom gallery of the 2nd facelift Alza for some time already. Quite disappointed at how slow a gallery of 2nd facelift Alza was shared on this paultan site.

Let’s focus giving feedback regarding this new Alza and compare with proper competitor. Don’t simply bash the P1 & P2. This update i think is to ensure Alza still relevant nowadays but it still and old car with old technology. Some latest tech cant be install into it. I think it is a failure job but pipu don’t have much choice when seeing other similiar categories. Sienta too expensive, Ertiga is good but double question mark of its support and parts availability in future. If P1 could focus on support for Ertiga, no one will buy this Alza.

Wrong Eric. New Facelift Perodua Alza is just as boring as Honda BRV. Moreover, Honda BRV is even more boring than New Facelift Perodua Alexa. Not only that, Honda BRV design looks very ugly and looks like donkey design

Can Perodua customize the dashboard for me? I want all the meter dials in right hand side exactly where the steering was. Or Perodua can make the optional for buyers to choose the dashboard type. Can ah?
