Volkswagen unveils ‘JOIN’ special editions of Polo, Vento, Tiguan and Passat – sold only on Lazada

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) today unveiled ‘JOIN’ special editions of the Polo hatchback, Vento B-segment sedan, Tiguan SUV and Passat D-segment sedan.

JOIN is an accessory package that can be added on to the Polo, Vento Comfortline and Highline, Tiguan Highline and Passat Comfortline. The Polo JOIN adds on side scuff plates, trunk garnish, a rear spoiler in black, side mouldings, leather seats and VW Tint. As with all JOIN models, there’s a badge on the profile – here, it’s on the B pillars.

The Polo is powered by a 105 PS/153 Nm 1.6 litre naturally-aspirated MPI engine, mated to a six-speed conventional automatic transmission. Colours that can be had with the JOIN package are Candy White, Carbon Steel Grey, Flash Red and Reflex Silver.

The Vento JOIN adds on a trunk garnish, rear spoiler, side mouldings (all in black), side scuff plates, leather seats and VW Tint. The Vento Comfortline is powered by the same 1.6L MPI engine as the Polo, while the Highline comes with a 1.2 litre turbo engine with 105 PS and 175 Nm of torque from 1,550 to 4,100 rpm. The TSI engine is paired with a seven-speed DSG twin-clutch automatic gearbox.

Available colours are Candy White and Carbon Steel Grey for the Vento Comfortline and Carbon Steel Grey or Deep Black for the Vento Highline.

Moving on, the Tiguan Highline JOIN comes with extra accessories including a “front design element” (the silver painted bit on the lower bumper), rear spoiler (black), trunk garnish, chrome exhaust tips, load lip protector, footboards and VW Tint. VW’s midsize SUV is powered by a 1.4 litre TSI engine with 150 PS and 250 Nm from 1,500 to 3,500 rpm. The turbo motor is mated to a six-speed DSG transmission. Choose from Deep Black, Pure White and Tungsten Silver.

Lastly, the Passat Comfortline JOIN adds on aluminium sport pedals, side scuff plates, new 18-inch “Marseille” alloys and VW Tint. The Comfortline variant of VW’s flagship model here is powered by a 1.8L TSI engine with 180 PS and 250 Nm from 1,250 to 5,000 rpm. The gearbox is a seven-speed DSG. Available colours are Deep Black, Manganese Grey, Pure White and Reflex Silver.

VPCM says that the JOIN package is worth RM7,000 for the Polo and Vento, RM10,000 for the Tiguan and RM12,000 for the Passat. The prices are RM81,990 for the Polo JOIN, RM91,690 for the Vento Comfortline JOIN, RM98,490 for the Vento Highline JOIN, RM175,990 for the Tiguan Highline JOIN and RM188,690 for the Passat Comfortline JOIN. The figures quoted are before promotion, registration and insurance. VPCM’s SST price protection scheme is available for all cars registered before November 30.

Interested? VPCM has made available 25 units of the JOIN range exclusively via Lazada. From today till October 30, customers can buy the models above at normal retail prices and receive the JOIN package for free. To make a booking, one is required to pay a booking fee of RM799 (Polo, Vento) or RM1,699 (Tiguan, Passat) on Lazada. He/she will then get a call from a VW rep to complete the deal and make necessary arrangements.

Unlike you, I test drove it & I’m telling you its peppy and has a punch in typical VW DSG style. Love to drive it everyday, but I’m not wanting to own one.

  • A rather boring name to spice up a car don’t you think? Something like MAXwagen would have been more exciting☺

VW and Audi Malaysia are 2 very sad brands here in Malaysia. One sells limited edition bodykits via Lazada while the other sells old pre reg vehicles. Not surprising both are one the same family.

Good car, but very poor service center quality and craftsmanship in Malaysia. IMO, Lower spec polo in china beats higher end Passat in Malaysia.
