What was your grandest purchase on Singles’ Day? Well, this one is going to be tough to beat, because all 11 units of the special edition Volkswagen Polo Black & White, which were exclusively sold on e-commerce platform Lazada, were snapped up in under a minute. That’s right, all 11 cars were booked by 12:01 am on November 11, and all purchase transactions were completed an hour after.
Customers were only required to pay a booking fee of RM799 on Lazada to enjoy the retail price of RM68,488, and they each received added accessories worth RM7,500. The special-run model is only available in Candy White, and each unit comes fitted with a black rear spoiler, black body side mouldings, 15-inch black alloy wheels, black side mirror and authorised Volkswagen window tint.
The rest of the car is based on the regular Polo 1.6 Comfortline Vienna, which hass standard leather seats, R340G head unit with App-Connect and a 1.6 litre petrol engine. The mill makes 105 PS and 153 Nm of torque, with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Last year, Volkswagen made a similar move under with the 12.12 Beetle sale, to which all 12 limited edition Beetles were sold out in 20 minutes. Suffice to say, this Polo fire sale is unprecedented. Tell us, would you buy your car online, dear readers?
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
buy your car online, car loan gerenti approve.
Everybody knows you get a good German car, so they snap it up. Try doing with a Proton and Lazada, even 6 months also nobody will buy it even if you give coupons and vouchers for discounts for free
What does Proton have any relevance in a VW article? Bodohkah?
I think you are bodoh. This article was published to tell how all the VW cars got sold under a minute. John said if it was a Proton, would the response be the same? Can you dig that?
Everyone is pandai here.. This IS MALAYSIA BARU.
Lazada boleh!
VW boleh!
Proton boleh!
Lowsiest german car that always breakdown you mean?
>visit workshop
>good
Pick 1
Very simple explanation. Polo has no DSG. It has normal autobox. So no problems.
But VWs with DSG autobox are the ones non stop kaputting. Even in 2018, VW SC is full of Passats with DSG box kaput.
So buyers in Malaysia know, Polo is very safe.
I wonder whether those 11 people bought the Polo are actually sales persons.
bingo. everyone of it is car salesman saleswoman.
“Tell us, would you buy your car online, dear readers?”
I will, but not a VW.
but how many cancel order later?
Yes, if I have plenty of cash and no time to spare…
Miracles do happen!
VW put all your old stock into Lazada… withing hour clear your stock.
yes you are right. Berpuluh ribu Protons are still under the hot sun in the yard. Roasting like Kenny Rogers Chicken.
Correct. Proton doesn’t need to throw prices like Perodua because they have a solid customer relationship. In JDPower, Proton is so much higher in customer engagement than Perodua ever was. That’s because Perodua only sells cheap shtboxes.
Most like all purchased by dealer and resell as pre-reg
Yeayyy may my usiness will get more prosperous next year!!!!!
68k for essentially a 9 year old car? If you’re a diehard vw fan why not buy a 2017 used polo since vw resale value is so bad you can take advantage of that anyway.
Hope their loan will not be rejected. Btw, new Polo still not launch in Msia. Still clearing old stock?
Probably they buy back their own to create an ‘illusion’
LOL..their own salesman bought em all..
VW might as well sell it at this price point the usual way; some people sure will buy this 1.6 junk anyway
this is year end car and shd have such discount when u check outside. Just that they give additional 7500 accessories which is worthy.
All new polo already released few months ago, I will get the new one instead of this so called “special edition” which is dated and very tired
really 11 sold?
last year 12 special edition Beetle sold online, how many actually saw those special edition beetle on the road ^^
