Perodua Aruz SUV price announced – RM72k to RM77k

Perodua Aruz SUV price announced – RM72k to RM77k

The Perodua Aruz SUV is open for booking nationwide, and the company has now officially announced the prices. Two variants of the seven-seater are available, and they are priced at RM72,200 for the 1.5 X and RM77,200 for the 1.5 Advance (AV). Prices are for Peninsular Malaysia and on-the-road excluding insurance. The factory warranty is for five years or 150,000 km.

The tentative Perodua Aruz prices put the new model around RM20k lower than its Toyota Rush sister car (RM93k to RM98k est), which is significant, while undercutting the less well-equipped Honda BR-V, which is priced from RM81k to RM88k.

Standard equipment for the Aruz includes LED headlamps with follow-me-home function, 17-inch two-tone alloys, second-row air-con vents, keyless entry and push start, Myvi-style built-in Touch n Go reader and a touch-screen head unit with reverse camera. Of course, P2’s own anti-snatch bag hook and fold-away utility hooks on the front seatbacks are present, along with the two memory settings for the digital air-con panel, as seen on the Myvi.

The five-star ASEAN NCAP rated car comes with six airbags, VSC, Hill Start Assist and Isofix child seat mounts across the range. The three-row SUV gets a 60:40 split fold second row while the third row is split 50:50. Both rows can slide, fold and tumble. There are charging ports for all rows.

The high-spec Aruz AV adds on auto on/off for the LED headlamps, front fog lamps, roof rails, leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with phone buttons, and a digital video recorder (dashcam). The audio system adds on HDMI, Smart Link, Bluetooth and navigation functions.

Only the AV gets the Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) 2.0 suite of driver assistance safety features. It’s similar to the ASA in the Myvi Advance (Pre-Collision Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, Front Departure Alert and Pedal Misoperation Control), but with upgraded software for additional functions and range.

Perodua Aruz SUV price announced – RM72k to RM77k

ASA 2.0 adds pedestrian detection (up to 50 km/h) and increases the operational speeds of Pre-Collision Warning to 100 km/h and Pre-Collision Braking to 80 km/h (from 30 km/h). ASA 2.0 is similar in spec as the Toyota Rush’s Pre-Collision System.

The P2 SUV is powered by a Dual VVT-i Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) engine, with Eco Idle (auto start-stop) and 15.6 km/l fuel economy. The engine in question is the Myvi’s 2NR 1.5 litre unit, which also powers the Toyota Rush. Toyota claims an identical 15.6 km/l figure for the Aruz’s twin, which comes with a four-speed automatic gearbox channeling drive to the rear axle.

“The Perodua Aruz is our fourth transformation model, setting new standards for us in quality, space, fuel efficiency and safety – the latter bolstered by a five-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating. With these qualities and more, the Aruz is among the best-value SUVs in Malaysia,” said Perodua’s new president and CEO Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad, who added that the sales target for the Aruz is 2,500 units per month.

The Perodua Aruz is available in five colours – Granite Grey, Electric Blue, Glittering Silver, Ivory White and Amazon Green. The latter is a new colour for Perodua while white is the sole solid hue in the all-metallic palette. Lastly, there’s a Gear Up accessories package for the Aruz as well – the Utility package includes door visors, a luggage tray and coil mats for RM450, which is RM50 cheaper than if the items are purchase separately.

Once again, RM72,200 for the Aruz X and RM77,200 for the Aruz AV – what do you think?

Common sense. Most Malaysians will buy a car with a Toyota/Daihatsu engine in it. Toyota engines are sold in over 200 countries Globally.

Now somemore even better. Rm50k lesser than the X70!!!!!

Proton X70 is the Boyue. Boyue is 95% sold only in China. Geely tried their best to sell the Boyue (x70) in First World Western Countries like UK, US, Switzerland, Germany but it was REJECTED by ALL First World Countries.

Ask yourself this….why did ALL First World Countries REJECT the Boyue?……Mesti ada sebab

Why buy a Rejected car that cost RM50k more?

No matter what goreng all the Proton cybertroopers may say, cheap la, axle patah lah etc etc, at the end of the day, Perodua sales is always 4X Proton sales.

From 20 years ago already, Proton fanboys and cybertroopers will try to busuk nama Perodua. But everytime they fail.

And each time Proton launches a car, they say it is a game changer. But instead of game changer, the sales become kaput.

This is why Perodua sales is 220.000 last year and Proton is 55,000 despite Proton getting all the Government and Ministerial department orders for Government vehicles.

In just 6 months, Perodua sold 100,000 Myvis. But Proton sold only 3000 Iriz

So bandingkan lah, 100,000 VS 3000. the rakyat has already spoken!

Today, it is even worse cause Aruz is RM50k cheaper than Proton X70

how do you put a price on the additional airbags, the ASA system that is not even available on the BRV as options.

You have to be fair to perodua for pricing, taking a fully loaded Aruz with a lot of kit vs. a kosong base spec BRV. Kit for kit, if the BRV can be identically equipped (if said options are available, the real BRV price will be well over 90k)

If the ASA automatic braking saves you from a single minor inattentiveness, the difference is well over 4k in damages saved.

And you can’t really bank on the Honda’s resale value, Perodua does equally well if not better than Honda on that aspect as well.

P2 will make the profits through volume. One thing that is noticeable is that although safety systems are well equipped many drivers are still reckless on the road. Hopefully this pricing will force other car makers to lower theirs. Many car companies are exponentially increasing their price without added value.

The Perodua installment set at RM822 for lower RM69,480 loan principal. IMHO, the best price for Aruz AV is RM72,200 while Aruz X set at RM69,200.

Bashers who can’t get loan for X70 will be queuing for this “SUV”. Then make comments about how it’s gonna outsell X70.

Before that, ask here ask there if can get 9 years full loan, no deposit to buy X70. When loan rejected, can’t accept the fact. BTW that 19″ Conti UC6 SUV is nearly RM700, mampu tak tukar tayar?

Stop complaining about this Aruz being underpowered! It is not. For me, 1.5 is ok, this is not an SUV to begin with, it is just an MPV pretend to be an “SUV” with taller suspension and bigger wheels. At the end of the day, it’s just an cheap, simple, unsubstantiated, hollow, dependable econobox meant to ferry 7 people and haul stuff, a lot of stuff.

This is perfect car for a pasar malam stall owner’s who sell clothes or kitchen appliances, many aunties who make a living by fetching 9 kids to school, or any pak cik or mak cik who wants to ferry as many relatives as possible to kenduri and Hari Raya open house. Hence, power, creature comfort and motoring pleasure is never in its engineering DNA to begin with.

For those of you think this is an proper SUV/Crossover which offer comfort, highway cruising ability, lifestyle enjoyment , refined and pleasure motoring , you are DEAD WRONG. It is not. I repeat, it is just an workhorse MPV trying too hard to market itself as an “SUV”.

Once you look past this Aruz seeming appearance of disguising as an “SUV”, you will accept it for what it is. It is a cheap, hollow, simple workhorse/ MPV that needs to get the job done.

So stop complaining it being underpowered, unrefined, uncomfortable with that archaic 4 speed auto. It is an MPV meant to ferry many people and haul many stuff day in day out , without breaking down with minimal maintenance required.

So kudos Perodua that finally come out with an Alza replacement and give Malaysian a proper workhorse for small entrepreneurs and many pak cik and mak cik who will love this car. Just that the marketing department is so confused and screwed by trying to market this car as an lifestyle SUV, which in essence, more like a cheap, hollow, dependable workhorse MPV (with bigger wheels and taller suspension).

Carrying 5 pipu in Aruz but still want to keep pace with full load X70 on highway is wrong way to go

Totally agree with you, this 1.5 liter SUV is for people who occasionally fetch up to 7 persons yet don’t want the look of the small MPV. The Sport in SUV for this car is the sporty look, not the sport performance.
The power is good enough for city drive, which most of the time only a driver is inside. When it is at the full load, the power still not so bad to move the car around, within the legal speed limit.
For the price of less than 80k, this is a good choice. If you want something much more powerful, better handling aka the real SUV, please get ready at least 3 times the budget.

  • I think the prices for localized productions for n by Malaysia standard are a bit stiffer, 2 models should price at OTR RM 68K for X n RM75k for AV. Otherwise they will go for a Toyota Avanza priced at RM77k + – 5% region.

Straight pricing are fairest thing to do to consumers . In this context no offer of cash discounts are necessary n ensure that those reserved for cash discount gimmicks are taken out from the initial pricings to advent more trust from consumers. It’s meant nett.nett OTR.

wait wait…are you sure people still buy Avanza ? I mean i hardly see new Avanza on the road. So you are assuming the Avanza will generate more sales than Aruz? hmm…you know the Avanza only have 2 airbags . ABS and EBD and that’s it right ? Not much of safety and unique features . i am sure folks now are wiser and are looking for value nowadays .

Dunia ekonomi kini sangat sedih.. sangat bijak kalau anda beli kereta yang murah dengan niat.. kereta kerja untuk anda bukan anda kerja untuk kereta. Perlu fikir baik2.. SUV kuat makan minyak.. road tax Mahal.. spare parts Mahal.. Gaya je lebih.. . Belilah ikut kemampuan bukan ikut kawan yang bergaya.. #just my cent
