2019 Honda Civic Hatchback to get Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic, Sensing safety pack in Thailand

2019 Honda Civic Hatchback to get Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic, Sensing safety pack in Thailand

The Honda Civic facelift made its Thai debut in November last year. Besides the visual updates for the minor change, the FC sedan also received a new Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic paint option and the Honda Sensing suite of driver assist systems for the top variant.

Now, while the Civic Hatchback wasn’t facelifted along with the sedan, globally, Headlightmag reports that the five-door FK hatch will soon be updated in Thailand. The model year 2019 Civic Hatchback is set to get the same Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic colour and Honda Sensing as the sedan, and it will surface in the Land of Smiles sometime in the first quarter of 2019.

The Civic Hatchback was launched in Thailand in March 2017. Unlike the sedan, the hatch does not have a base NA engine and is only available with a 1.5 litre turbo-four with 173 PS and 220 Nm of torque from 1,700 to 5,500 rpm. The L15B7 is mated to a CVT automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

Dimension wise, the hatch – which is the base for the Civic Type R – shares the same width (1,798 mm) and wheelbase (2,700 mm) as the sedan, but is taller (+20 mm) and shorter by 112 mm. The boot holds 727 litres with the rear seats down, against the booted car’s 519 litres. It’s priced at 1,169,000 baht (RM150,606) and there’s a Modulo kit available. Last year saw a Red version join the range.

What do you think of the Civic Hatchback in Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic? By the way, it’s a real Type R colour (click on the pics above for more), so creating a FK8 Type R replica is a step easier. Honda Malaysia does not think that there’s sufficient demand for the hatchback to make a business case for it in Malaysia – what say you?

Would have been nice to bring some here. The boot space is still large despite the reduced rear overhang. But in the end, its about maximising what HM can sell. And that means SUVs. Even the new Accord is not here, even though its been launched over a year ago in the US.

Yes please. Rather the hatchback then the long sedan that is a bit large – it is a Civic after all, hope the handling gets improved in the process. I understand that the current Civic’s handling is competent but not great from the feedback from owners

Honda Malaysia should bring in the hatchback version. Have a little faith your brand and products. Honda Civic is everyone’s dream car. Even bashers in PT dream to own it but they bash as they know they cannot afford one. Let those who can afford buy one.

There are no bashers in PT that hate Civic. Only one. That is our regular troll john who has about 20 dupes. He creates a scenario that so many are bashing Honda Malaysia but in truth, only one keyboard warrior bashing Honda Malaysia with different dupes.

I pity people. Just because their Proton cannot sell, they bash other brands.

Good job P2 Salesmen. Majority people will never come to the Perodua Showroom to book Perodua Aruz as well as no one will also book for Aruz using Perodua Online

Such delusions. I have been reading John’s comments and nowhere did he make any disparaging remarks about Civic. Rather it was you who made a disparaging comment below. Like seriously, your hatred for John in telling the truth has finally made your mind go over the edge. I recommend that you check yourself into Happy Hospital as soon as possible for rehabilitation. Do it before it’s too late.

Honda Malaysia should give their Sensing package in all Hondas. After all we have the highest car prices in the world due to the previous corrupted regime making car prices super high

For sure if come it will not be CKD. CBU will cost Civic hatch a lot more. So I don’t think they will bring it to bolehland.

  • Certainly many Civic buyers with up to two kids or sigle buyers will prefer this hatchback over the sedan variant especially with these BLUE, RED, WHITE or BLACK Type-R replica paint.

Civic hatchback traditionally has always has premium over booted siblings. Since current Civic Type-R were four-door just like sedan dimensions except length with more flexible tailgate opening and slightly less boot space, now is the best time re-offer hatchback variant than ever.

Icing on the cake is: highest variant to be slot under Type-R is Replica with same 1.5T mill and sportier front seats.

Honda Malaysia used to bring in brilliant sporty blue metallic for Honda city but later changed to Ruby red. Still think the blue are one the nicest color for Honda. Hopefully they bring in the blue for facelift civic. Boring with all those typical white black or silver car on road.
