2019 Perodua Aruz SUV – watch the launch live here!

The first major car launch taking place in Malaysia this year will be the new Perodua Aruz, and we’re bringing you an exclusive livestream of the event, so you can watch the seven-seat SUV celebrate its debut from wherever you have internet access.

Perodua’s new SUV model represents the national carmaker’s return to the segment, with previous models being the Nautica and the memorable Kembara. Much like those models, it is based on the Daihatsu Terios, which also doubled as the basis for the first- and second-generation Toyota Rush.

Based on early information, the Aruz will come with a 1.5 litre Dual VVT-i engine with a four-speed automatic transmission. Two variants will be offered, and the range topper comes as standard with Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) 2.0, which includes Pre-Collision Warning and Pre-Collision Braking, among other features.

Tentative pricing for the Aruz places it between RM72,200 for the entry-level X variant and RM77,200 for the top-spec AV – on-the-road price without insurance. We’ll get full details when the Aruz is launched, and you can check out our dedicated info hub of the upcoming SUV model for more information.

This car will outsell the X70. Don’t get me wrong, the X70 is a good car. Actually, all new Proton cars are good.

The problem is their lembap workers and salesmen. Always drinking tea 8 times everyday and spreading fake news.

Then when you send your car for repair at SC, they will say “Bang, ni Proton bang. Biaselah, what do you expect?”

P2 has great cars and also great service. That’s why banyak rakyat Malaysia beli

    • Not very worth to buy Perodua on Jan 14, 2019 at 10:14 pm

Perodua Aruz will not sell well. The reason is because Aruz is actually doesn’t even have lots of safety features and having basic specs which doesn’t even have Blind Spot Monitor, No Rear Cross Traffic Alert, No Digital Video Recorder, No Panaromic View Monitor with 4 cameras and No 360 degree camera and no Automatic Air Cond. Whereas Rush have professional safety features and having lots of technological features including Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Digital Video Recorder, Panaromic View Monitor with 4 cameras and 360 degree camera and Auto Air Conditoner. Especially, X70 have lots of technological features and lots of safety features. So overall Rush and X70 will sell well than Aruz

You want those features (accessories)? just add them back by couple of thousands..and i’m confident..they’ll cost below 10k at some available shops..or even better, P2 can let it as options can be added later in special package..so, can get back on same floor with 2nd Rush..why pay much for same features..buang duit maa..

Technically, yes. But reality is, have you seen any Rush on the road? I have seen none around in PJ & Puchong area, although it has been officially launched almost 3 month ago. I guess people already knew about P2 will rebadge it and sell at much cheaper price. Price over badge.

Uols are supposed to be launching your car; Aruz. But seems like uols are not talking about Aruz but Proton X70. X70! X70! X70! X70! As a consumer, if P2 sales staff starts to talk only about their competitor, I am really, very interested to know more about this competitor: X70.

Aruz? Huh? Got such a car exist? But P2 have been talking about X70 since Day One. Why would I want to buy their product when they keep telling me about X70?

After service, the car become even more problems and repair few times can’t detect the root of caused. Then the foreman told me like what you say “Bang, ni Perodua bang. Biasalah, what do you expect?” These few words make me so angry.
After my pay get better I sell the problematic Perodua and never enter Perodua showroom again. My impression of Perodua is big liar, lousy design and lousy service.

I’ve known a Proton salesman (Setapak branch) that do her work efficiently. Always updated me about the car status & all every day back when i bought a Persona with her last year. The car should be delivered within a week but there’s a problem with Proton’s cargo lorry from Tanjung Malim and it would take longer so what she did is she went all the way to TM and drove the car back to KL by herself and i got the car within a week, impressive. One of a kind Proton salesman i must say.

incredible.. you have a crystal ball. any tips for 4D yb albert? btw, your comments on how people buy cars are at best, uneducated (and non-factual). traditional proton car buyers are anything but impulsive. protons top selling cars are their cheapest cars, which very likely points to a very price and budget sensitive market segment. The customers with a higher budget has always stayed away from proton for whatever reason.. choosing japanese brands etc. To say the X70 is a game changer for proton might be a little premature.. but there is already a glimmer of hope for proton as the number prove it, that people who would never buy a proton otherwise, are suddenly choosing to buy the X70 at the rm100k mark and above. This in itself proves that people buying the x70 are not protons traditional buyers. its a totally new market segment that they have captured.

This car will be another Perodua failure since Nautica. Smarter people will sure go to buy Toyota Rush over Perodua Aruz as it lacks safety feautures such as Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Panoramic View Monitor. What worse is that Perodua Aruz is a copy and paste version of Toyota Rush. Even the aunties and uncles in the pasar and kopitiam also know that!

Perodua might release their SUV in 2021 but they found out Proton X70 got so many bookings and they had no idea so they quickly copy and paste Toyota Rush. They thought their SUV can take some sales from X70 but it did not happen. Perodua Aruz will look stale and boring since it looks exactly the same as Toyota Rush which has been launched few months ago.

So that’s why John Minum Teh 8X and Pilihanraya Kalah Teruk are now hiding in caves.

The bad about this car is 4 speed Auto where 3500rpm is at 100km/hr. the loud engine sound can be heard when you travel above 110km/hr.

As for Honda BRV, you will be speeding 130km/hr at ard 3000rpm with lesser sound from the engine.

The Toyota is smart, they know the Toyota Rush will be a failure and use Perodua to market their product and maintain the same profit margin at the expense of Gorn Tax.
