2019 Maserati Ghibli now in Malaysia with subtle improvements, added kit – from RM619k to RM769k

A year on after the facelifted Maserati Ghibli was introduced in Malaysia, Naza Italia has announced that the gorgeous four-door executive express has received another round of updates for the 2019 model year. The revisions are mostly functional in nature, with a couple of options thrown into the mix.

These revisions come at no extra charge, with the standard Ghibli continuing to retail starting at RM618,800, and the GranLusso and GranSport variants at RM668,800. The more powerful Ghibli S, meanwhile, is yours for RM718,800, while splurging for the GranLusso or GranSport versions will set you back RM768,800. All prices are nett, excluding insurance or on-the-road costs but inclusive of local taxes and duties.

The most notable difference is the redesigned electronic gearlever, now with a dedicated Park button on top, mirroring similar designs from BMW. This frees up space for reorganised controls for the car’s driving modes, which Maserati says makes them more user-friendly.

Also updated is the Maserati Touch Control Plus (MTC+) infotainment system, featuring new display graphics and improved climate controls, allowing greater customisation of air flow distribution – on the Ghibli, this is separated for driver and passenger. There’s also a new Pieno Fiore leather upholstery option, claimed to be unrivalled for its natural soft feel and has been designed to develop a unique character over time.

Other new options include carbon fibre twill and Rovere Veneer wood trim, Blu Nobile triple-coat paint and 20-inch Teseo alloy wheels in a light or dark finish. Adaptive matrix LED headlights, which were previously standard on the GranLusso and GranSport trims, are now fitted across the range.

Maserati is also introducing the Nerissimo Edition, which is finished in black paint with dark chrome and gloss black highlights, darkened headlights and a choice of either 20-inch Urano or 21-inch Titano alloys – in black, of course. You also get heated front and rear sports seats as standard, along with tinted windows, a powered rear sun blind and Dark Mirror interior trim.

No changes to the mechanicals, with all models continuing to be powered by a 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6, paired to a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox. On the standard Ghibli, output figures are rated at 350 PS at 5,500 rpm and 500 Nm at 4,500 rpm, good for a zero-to-100 km/h time of 5.5 seconds and a 267 km/h top speed.

The Ghibli S bumps this up to 430 PS at 5,750 rpm and 580 Nm from 2,250 to 4,000 rpm, dropping the century sprint to 4.9 seconds and raising the top speed to 286 km/h. As before, the Ghibli comes with a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty, along with a five-year/100,000 km free maintenance package and the three-year/60,000 km Maserati Premium Service Plus.

It’s clear that Iriz copied Maserati Ghibli dashboard design. Same as the Gen2 which copied BMW X6 exterior design

I see so many Maseratis around. Infact, Maserati is making a comeback. I even dare to say in Klang Valley alone, I see more Maseratis than our Proton Perdana!

They already trade-in their trident logo car to black cat logo car.
