Naza Kia Malaysia has officially launched the new Picanto GT Line in Malaysia, which is a new variant that joins the existing EX in the Picanto line-up (we previously reported on). Priced at RM57,888 on-the-road without insurance, the GT Line is a whole RM8,000 more than the base EX thanks to an enhanced kit list.
The big item here is the addition of autonomous emergency braking (AEB) on top of already-standard features such as six airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, stability control, hill start assist and ISOFIX rear child seat anchors.
Aside from the bump in safety equipment, the GT Line also gets a new front bumper with a larger lower apron and integrated fog lights, deeper side skirts and an aggressive rear diffuser design with twin exhaust exits.
There are also plenty of contrasting accents for the grille, front intakes, side skirts and rear diffuser, while the car rides on 16-inch eight-spoke alloy wheels in a two-tone finish.
As for the inside, there’s a leather-wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel, automatic air-conditioning, two-tone leather seats, sunroof, Supervision instrument cluster, front armrest, an illuminated vanity mirror, cruise control and a tyre pressure monitoring system
The rest of the equipment list is identical to the EX, including automatic projector halogen headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, keyless entry, push-button start, a reverse camera, six speakers and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
Similarly, the engine remains a 1.2 litre Kappa II naturally-aspirated four-cylinder unit that makes 84 PS at 6,000 rpm and 122 Nm at 4,000 rpm. This is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission that drives the front wheels.
Buyers will get to choose from three exterior finishes – Titanium Silver, Clear White and Aurora Black Pearl. Each purchase also come with five years warranty with unlimited mileage.

Proton Iriz FL way better drive and handling.
Myvi is yes best in RV, realibility also good, NVH no, picanto have better NVH, and in term of safety kia seriously alot better. For Kia, safety of it car is most priority, even previous picanto have 6 airbag compare to previous myvi only 2. Only current myvi have good safety feature. But if RV is not ur concern, then go for picanto. But most Msian will go for myvi. Unless this picanto comes with 1.0 turbo engine then shud be alot buyer.
Such biased comment, without knowledge backing up your point.
Yes I do agree that Myvi is bigger, have better reliability and good RV.
However, on the safety side, did you know that Picanto is constructed using hot-stamp method while Myvi is cold? Did you know that Picanto is one of the first small cars in M’sia that came with full safety suite that lead the other competitors to follow this trend?
Arguably FC is about the same as Myvi..no much difference.
But Picanto is better at overall NVH, build quality and ride comfort.. although it lacks ASA that came with Myvi.
Test drive one and you may agree with me.
Does Iris also uses cold-stamp or hot stamp?
Iriz hot-stamped
Both cars HPF and same price. But Iriz is B segment and Picanto is A segment only. So Proton Iriz win !
Such nice specs, better safety features. Abesla Myvi!
Actually, I beg to differ. After spending time in both cars, I feel that the Picanto actually drives a lot better than the MyVi. Yes, in terms of RV and space, the MyVi is superior, but in terms of safety, drivability, comfort, refinement and even its infotainment system, the Picanto is actually surprisingly better! So far after 1 year of driving the Picanto, no reliability issues to report.
No, the Picanto has better NVH, ride and handling. Safety is on par between the two.
At close to Rm 60k for this super mini car…it is only for the diehard hardcore Kia fans, who will not think for a moment, regardless how the economy is faring this 2019.
The main problem for the low resale value is the due to the LOCAL DISTRIBUTOR.
AS known to many, except the naive….the owners are treating the distributorship like a TOY.
After ditching CHEVROLET,KIA may be the next victim.KIa Korea is running out of patience.
You may wake up one day, when Naza no longer is authorised to distribute the KIA marque.
RM27,888 this car true price
Dude its already 2019 and yet you are still talking about resale value. Do you know MINI Cooper? Their Resale Value also drop like hell.. and what is your arguments towards that? Geez.. people buy car because they just like the car and they can afford one. Doesn’t matter at what price. You cant afford one just put your cute on mute. Buy Saga or Axia instead.
aiye…. why copy axia’s design, yukki…
Copy Axia wak lu……picanto ni world wide punye market. Axia only in bolehland je ngok !
If RV is not your priority, then get this car immediately. Price and specs are truly value for money compared to its ahem Malaysian rivals like Perodua(Daihatsu in disguise) and of course Proton(Now Geely in disguise). LOL
This car got RV. but no Sunroof… Pffff
Buy sushi car better.. Good rv
Buy kimchi car better..
Buy both Kimchi and Sushi better. But not Honda and Nissan
The real game changer, habisla Iriz FL!
Iriz 1.6T win!
No manual transmission?? Also it’s underpowered. Plus the colours are hideous.
But it’s still nicer than the Myvi.
Manual? Now is 2019..not 1990s.. traffic jammed very bad..
we don’t need manual, you know our country mostly got traffic jammed.
It’s auto dude, see the photo
I have to say…if this new picanto have good RV in Mesia, it will easily kills others k-car, can really compete head on wif p2, seriously. But becos of it poor RV n parts abit hard to get, so not everyone wud get this car, all go for myvi.
For its size n segement, in fact it’s actually overpowered compared to the puny 1.0L found in Axia! (Although Axia has superb FC compared to Picanto)
The 1.2L has the performance of 1.3L found in Myvi! Very nimble on the fly..just imagine slapping on the 1.3L Myvi Engine into the Axia..walaoweh!
1.2 Engine is rubbish, bring in the 1.0t then can consider
Overpriced
The only reason this can’t sell?…NAZA ..
On your markkkkkk…get setttt….start bashing!
Brochure wrote got sunroof.. but not mentioned here. Is the sunroof omitted ?
Have been using this Picanto EX since March last year…a very good car it is…stable, good cute looking, has enough performance, good fuel consumption, four disc brakes, 6 airbags, can easily park in tight places – my wife works in a hospital, mind you; etc…and funnily the main reason I chose the Pica is because it got proper water temperature gauge unlike Axias and Myvis…:)
the engine remains a 1.2 litre Kappa II naturally-aspirated four-cylinder unit that makes 84 PS at 6,000 rpm and 122 Nm at 4,000 rpm. This is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission that drives the front wheels.
What a laughing stock…. underpowered and yet still run on an old tech 4 speeder. the worst it has the cheek to call itself a “GT”. unless the “GT” means “Generally Terrrible”.
1.5l 104hp 136nm Aruz & Rush also using old tech 4AT also laughing stock kan hahahaha
Joke of the day.

At least it have rear disc brake as compare to myvi which still use drum brake. If only it came with a turbo engine, then it probably will be a game changer.
Why having 1 reverse light and 1 fog light in a non symmetrical system? those are hideous. Better put a normal symmetrical reverse and extra (center) fog light on that..
Eh, sunroof removed from Malaysian version?
Why put GT badge when there’s no increase in horsepower?
Shouldve equipped with turbocharged engine…. Now ure just another underpowered picanto
Have you all seen the video Driven by Hafriz & the gang? They have made comparo of Picanto, Myvi and Iriz. Each have own pros and cons, but in the end Myvi wins. So my opinion is seek what you want, get what you wish for, pay for the whatever prices that stated before. It’s all about choices. However i agreed with Hafriz, Myvi wins overall because of the good package. Picanto & Iriz too cramped..
