Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) today released a new price list for its models in Malaysia. Upon checking, there’s no difference in on-the-road without insurance pricing for the Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid (HEV RM99,888, HEV Plus RM115,888), Tucson facelift (Nu 2.0 MPI Elegance RM123,888, Gamma 1.6 T-GDI Turbo RM143,888) and Elantra facelift (Nu 2.0 MPI Executive for RM109,888).
However, the Hyundai Grand Starex 2.5 CRDI VGT Executive sees a small RM3,000 price jump from RM148,888 to RM151,888. The facelifted Starex made its debut at the 2018 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) late last year. The people mover’s face is now more contemporary, sporting bowl-shaped headlamp clusters and a big U-shaped grille. Like Thailand, our refreshed Starex carries over the familiar dashboard – we miss out on the Korean-spec van’s all-new cabin.
The 11-seater four-row Starex is equipped with a touchscreen head unit with navigation, six roof-mounted blowers for the three rows behind the driver, front and rear parking sensors, reverse camera, eight-inch rear roof-mounted monitor with DVD player, cruise control, auto lights, 16-inch alloys, four airbags and ESC. Leather, as shown here, is an option.
The big Hyundai is powered by a 2.5 litre turbodiesel with 170 PS and 441 Nm of torque. The VGT motor is mated to a five-speed conventional automatic transmission with manual mode, which sends drive to the rear wheels.

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Cars r becoming more exp in New MY. Life getting harder for everyone except kornis.
Amazing this Starex. What an achievement. Hyundai first car rolled out in 1974, just 10 years before Proton rolled out their first car in 1985.
And yet, Hyundai sells 8 million cars globally. This is why they sell so well. They design good products.
A RM3k price hike has a post about it. So why not post about a new steering wheel for the Almera?
(Like) Kia Grand Carnival
(Dislike) Hyundai Starex Royale
Hyundai got lots of recalls. It is more safer to buy Kia than dangerous Hyundai due to Engine risk and airbags and other parts that have more problems
Only US-manufactured Hyundai & Kia are making the recall since only those from their plants are affected. Any problem Hyundai has, Kia would also have it since Kia is Hyundai’s sister company. They share many parts inc. engine.
The Starex already not doing well. And somemore they increase RM3k.
No logic. Obviously this GLC mentality of not knowing how to do business.
If your product has bad sales, means your price is already too high!
This is basic Business 101
Never knew Hyundai is a GLC company. That’s new.
I like this van. Like the way it drives, the power of the engine…and how behave it is even cruising way above the national speed limit…and, ya…climbing up cameron and genting is a breeze even with full 11 seats occupied. Its just that very dissapointed with this facelift, as if Hyundai let those fresh intern “do whatever you want” design and then blindly agree. Please la, at least we get the decently design Korean market dashboard.
You always see many recond alphard veilfire at used car dealer mart but you seldom see any recond starex there
So you are the one of their intern right
Buy new Starex or sekenhen Alphard.
Both are glorified van but one is overrated.
The interior really KNN for this price point in Mid 2019.
Dun so petty sahabat. We in jakarta grateful if can drive safely , Malaysia a good safe country
So lame. Lol
150K gooder to get 2 unit Proton Exora. Hnnghjgh
I think by now, people have grown tired of asking why aren’t cars getting any cheaper despite us having a change of government.
Thanks to Uncle Sam making sure M currency value remains low.
Lol, they got cheated
Amen to that. Oh wait… that’s us :cries:
Still ugly dashboard
Paste all chrome tint windows so people outside can’t view your ugly dashboard
With new opaque tint rules, no one can see inside. Problem solved.
cheer or Elizabeth Taylor of car…. more facelift yhan anyone can count
It is not a genuine facelift if this car still uses lap seat belts and not 3 points seat belts. Come on, this is a very basic safety feature.
pre FL- hyundai
1st FL – Alphard/Lexus
This FL – Renault
Still maintain 2-point seat belt at rear seats?

The new facelift totally turned this into an actual van.
