If you’ve been keen to find out just how the Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSI R-Line drives, well, here’s a chance for you to do so – come drive and experience the Mk7.5 hatch variant with paultan.org on August 3 in a special convoy drive.
There will be a meet and greet session, where Hafriz Shah will conduct a live walk-around of the car. He’ll also be leading the drive, so you’ll be able to ask him more about the variant, as well as share your thoughts and observations with other participants.
There will be three drive sessions on the day, each lasting three hours, making for a comprehensive, immersive experience with the Golf 1.4 TSI R-Line. Refreshments will be served during the session.
Slots are limited though to 21 participants, spread out over the three sessions, but each participant can bring a “plus one,” which means 42 people in all for the day’s activities. The Golf 1.4 TSI R-Line was introduced last year, and the R-Line specification adds on a sporty bodykit – with unique front and rear bumpers – inspired by the Golf R as well as an exclusive Turmeric Yellow exterior. Standard fit items include LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, a digital Active Info Display instrument cluster and an eight-inch centre touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It’s powered by a 1.4 litre turbo engine offering 150 PS at 5,000 to 6,000 rpm and 250 Nm from 1,500 to 3,500 rpm, with power sent to the front wheels through a seven-speed DSG dry dual-clutch transmission and an XDS differential lock. Performance figures include a 0-100 km/h time of 8.2 seconds and a 216 km/h top speed.
