Lotus has just revealed to the press their new Lotus Circuit Car prototype. The Lotus Circuit Car is based on the same aluminium chassis that the Lotus Elise has and weighs 650kg. It is a single seater by default, with a second seat being optional. The entire car was designed and built in eleven weeks.
Pushing that 650kg worth of engineering around will be a Toyota 1.8 intercooled supercharged VVTL-i engine. This 2ZZ-GE engine has a Roots-type Eaton M62 blower that blows through an intercooler to boost power output to 243hp at 8000rpm and max torque of 236Nm at 7000rpm. An N/A version is also available making 190hp at 8000rpm and 181Nm torque at 7000rpm. Click here to read the rest of Lotus Circuit Car
Denis Wong of Autocar reviews the Proton Savvy and gives it pretty good comments.
They have photos with very good angles of the black Proton Savvy with a Malaysian number plate.

Top Gear covered the Ariel Atom 2, an ultra stripped down track car for the road (or a souped up go-kart, whichever way you want to look at it). It’s all praises, and you’d be suprised at the track test results at the end.
It’s not just Honda and BMW who have been putting their F1 experience to use in their road cars. Meet the Lexus LF-A.
This piece by Zainul Arrifin in the NST seems to indicate that Proton used to have a Japanese managing director back in 1988 - Mr. Kenji Iwabuchi, from Mitsubishi Motor Corp.
The top position went back to a Malaysian in 1993. Datuk Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh. 1988-1993, that’s 5 years.
So a foreigner in the top position at Proton isn’t really as foreign as you think it is.

The Ariel Atom. This my friends, is not what I’d consider a car. More like a Go-Kart. But it’s powered by a supercharged Honda K20 engine making 300 horsepower on a 456kg body. Madness? Yes. It is fast? YES! Click here to read the rest of The Ariel Atom
