Nissan has been using the Tokyo Motor Show to gives us previews on the next legendary GT-R Skyline. In 2001, they unveiled the GT-R Concept, based on the Infiniti G35 which later became the Nissan Skyline V35. In 2003, it announced the next Skyline R35 GT-R would be unveiled in 2007.
This year at the 39th Tokyo Motor Show, it unveils to us the GT-R PROTO concept. Currently there are some concept graphics released, so enjoy!
10 days more as of today. There’s a countdown to the unveiling here, thanks to cbljkkj.

Nice….
wow!
ermmm is it like a lil but too exotic?
paul any idea whats gonna be installed under the hood?
probably the Nissan Z's 3.5 liter but turbocharged
what about those rumours of V8?pumping 400bhp?
really nice whit legendary look.
i luv the rear , damn cool…nt sure if the final version will have such an aggressive front though…
these concept cars really exagerrate the looks a lot la..
nice to see, but not too practical.. haha.. they cater to our imagination but not to reality..
if it were to come out.. nissan will have to make lots and lotsa front bumpers.. look at how loww that is!! hahaha.. but still, not taking ANYTHING away from the designers..
sexy lookin vixen.. :P
The best replacement!
whoa…
this car gives my mouth wide open
surely if i have the bucks it needs… this car is mine
heheh
The reason why the GT-R Prototype is so streamlined in because Nissan wanted a more aerodynamic model and based it on a supercar concept doing away with the sedan like look of the car. Specwise, nothing has been announced, guess another 10 days to find out.
wow..kool n mouth watering..but i m wondering how's this car gonna go through a hump?? ermm…
What i want to say is that: GUYS, dont expect the car will look like what it is in the pix above.. that is just a drawings ~~ the actual model may differ from the pictures u saw. There is quite a lot examples that the drawings of the car is nice, but the real model doesnt looks as nice as the drawings.. ~~ for example, the new 2005 WRX STi ~~ (but i din say that the real car doesnt looks nice, just hv a distance from the drawings..)
i have no idea why Nissan spend money to design concept cars…..
why don't use it in R&D for a hybrid car???
..finally the return of the GTRs…hooray…
WOW…
that pics made me came, and the v35 looked good (not stock, stock really needs work).
personally i dont think it will surpass the 280hp gentlemans agreement between the manufacturers and the japanese governent. However USDM versions of the car might just have a more powerful engine: wrx had 2.5 L 300 hp engine instead of the JDM 2.0L (wrc standard).
BTW, feast your eyes on the Top secret v35 GTR. even if it doesnt come out liek the concept pics, i really hope it will at least look liek this :)

Wow not bad, now thats what I call a GTR.
Ooooooooooo! Drool factor X infinity! Huh… I WISH they really made the car exactly like the prototype drawings la… But like some of youse said, it will be most unlikely… :(
In my most humble opinion, I think car makers spend lots of cash on prototypes because it is the way forward to making/designing safer, more stylish and generally, better cars. When you have a radical idea, you make a prototype to test it out. This is because more often than not, what looks good on paper and in the test phases i.e. theoretical, might just not work out in a practical environment. For example the various addons designed for F1 cars. They look impressive in wind tunnel testing and all that, but when snapped on onto the car, they don't work so well. This is because there are many other variables, like wind pressure, humidity, debris, temperature, etc. Basically, factors that just cannot be tested in a closed environment i.e. test phase.
So, they will build a prototype test car. Of course, they want to build the car looking as radical as possible to get noticed. This is helpful in boosting sales and getting investments, among other things…
Just my humble humble opinion! :D
buy me one kthxbai
On the contrary Swee, the new Skyline will most likely be above the 280hp mark. True the Japanese limit has always been 280 but the figures for the 2006 Subaru Impreza horsepower count is 300. Nissan also wants to sell the GT-R in other countries instead of limiting it to Japan only.
This will definitely make the horsepower count go up as Nissan wouldnt want to disappoint in the engine department eg: 350Z or higher displacement vehicles
^_^ lets hope so
im tired of people calling NSX a poor man's supercar because of the 280hp cap!
400hp nsx? say it aint so… :>
350 hp skyline… vroom
excellent
Hey Paul, i there is some R35 Pics here i gez, check it out. http://www.r35gtr.com/r35_gtr_pics.php
That was the concept shown in 2003.
Thanx for the info
If I'm not mistaken, the 280hp limit is something the UK govt has imposed or linked to insurance costs.
I remember reading it in a magazine a long time ago.
I don't know about UK, but in Japan it is a gentlemen's agreement to quote only 280hp for their cars. Unless you are talking aftermarket stuff/tuners.
That agreement has been abolished in mid-2004.
I've heard rumors of a 3.3L vq engine, a VQ33DETT to be exact, pumping out 450bhp..
But I'd prefer a V8 myself.
now that is SKYLINE…
Lovely car. Butt reminds me of a Ferrari F430.
more aerodynamic than GTR R34, future concept….
Go go skyline R35
i hope it doesn't look like d 2001 gtr. that's so lame.
i wonder how much will it cost if this car really comes in reality
wtf man!!!
such a damn nice car!
if malaysia proton's designer got such pro, i think i m in heaven now
the back lights r alsome
i like gtrs but the new one kind of sucks
thats the best best skyline i ever seen
