The first generation Volkswagen Polo had a sedan variant called the Derby and this tradition has continued even until the version before the recently unveiled new model, where the sedan version was called the Volkswagen Polo Classic. The Polo Classic is sold in countries like Brazil, South Africa, China and even Australia. Thus it would only make sense for the Polo Classic sedan to be updated following the release of the new Polo hatchback. Anyway the point of this post is the image above, Theophilus Chin‘s artist’s impression of what a new Polo Classic sedan could look like. Not hard to make it look decent since the base car was already such a looker!
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
would be nice if available locally
at least a more 'affordable' VW perhaps for us here
the size look like P1 blm and the design too….
can this fellow below 60k? if yes i will consider to have it
it comes with a vw badge. dont even hope for it to be below rm90k. remember, this is not a proton or perodua and vw is not going to sell their premium cars at the same price point as proton or perodua. it may be the same size as the blm but quality wise, well there is a saying, "you get what you pay for".
i see toyota corolla
u want to come to our market , then want to sell ur affordable car like our saga ? then what let our people lose our own job at this economy down time?
errr… i think local people survival is more importnat… it not about our car taste,,,it about country survival
yes may be the quality not as good as vw..but bear in mind..actually not proton alone build a car. proton also depend on vendor..normally part that will get problem comes from vendor..is it proton should be blame?if u want quality yes proton should be can make it but all the parts need to be imported from german too..then you want to pay more if proton do like that??should be you will get angry if the price that proton stick is put higher..so no wonder the car that proton make is cheaper but lower quality
looks proton-ish to me ..
The new Polo will be priced within the old Polo's pirce (~108K.) Unfortunately with the failing global economy most car prices have already been jacked up to accomodate the loss of profits like VW. FActor in the dramatic drop in VW share prices in Germany and VW will seriously need every penny they can get. On top of that with Malaysia being a relatively 'small' market I doubt that VW will be giving any bargains.
With regards to Proton, acquiring the right parts is part of the engineering design of the product itself. In terms of reliability, engineering prowess and competitiveness, proton still has a long way to go in the global market. Lets all hope now that emerging automotive giants from China and India do not outbit the locally produced items.
Theophilus Chin has never failed to amaze us!
"should be can make it"
Wow…
Well, er….I'm not an economist or an ADUN for that matter, but getting investor(s) to open factory (or even factories) is actually good for the country and for those jobless graduates and retrenched workers not forgetting the tax they pay to the big G. Now wether we can afford to buy or not a VW is another matter. I'm sure the price of CKD VW is much cheaper than CBU but still would be slightly more expensive than P1 and P2, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for…
For me, I like to see more choices on the table.
Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, there are benefits of having VW open a factory in Malaysia, in terms of giving all those jobless graduates the work. But don't forget, it's not just a question of that. There's also the question of money flowing out of the country, after tax….there must be a balance between the two to make things work.
yeap, base polo is quite nice. so the sedan should be better also.
Looking forward for this model.
