Starting from RM100,328 for the base HEV variant, the 2016 Hyundai Ioniq hybrid appears to represent great value. Locally assembled by Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors at its Inokom plant in Kulim, Kedah, the Hyundai Ioniq HEV is joined by the HEV Plus, at RM110,328 (prices are OTR, without insurance).
The Ioniq is powered by a 1.6 litre Kappa GDI four-cylinder Atkinson cycle direct injection engine, which produces 105 PS at 5,700 rpm and 147 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. This is mated with a six-speed dry clutch transmission and a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, which provides 44 PS and 170 Nm, culminating in a total system output of 141 PS and 265 Nm.
In Malaysia, the Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid gets the full safety suite, including AEB, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitor as well as Smart Cruise Control in its top-spec RM111k HEV Plus guise. However, even the base RM100k HEV model gets seven airbags and electronic stability control as standard. In fully loaded guise, the Hyundai Ioniq has scored the full five-star Euro NCAP rating.
Concerned about the traction battery? Fear not, for Hyundai has it covered with an eight-year, unlimited mileage warranty, and should it require replacement after that period, it’s been guaranteed to cost less than RM10,000.
As part of an introductory offer, Ioniq customers will also benefit from a three-year or 60,000 km free service package, three-year guaranteed automotive protection (GAP) insurance coverage and interest rate from as low as 2.28%.

The sheet is to protect the equipment used for AEB, Smart/Adaptive Cruise Control.
Nobody wants an insect to damage the equipment when travelling at more than 120km/h.
So shocking Hyundai has done it. A brilliant Hybrid. All car manufacturers are moving towards Hybrid and EEV.
Except one company. That is our famous Proton, who takes billions our Ringgit to keep itself alive but no innovation or inventions.
Malaysians have been waiting 8 years now for the Proton Hybrid that Proton promised then. 8 tahun tunggu. Where lah Proton is this Hybrid you are talking about?
Then Proton took hundreds of million of our LHDN money telling gomen they need to do Hybrid research.
Then 3 years ago Proton paraded the Iriz EV. Again Proton told gomen they needed billions to reserach on EV. 3 years have passed and no EV all

RM100 for such a superb car. No wonder it will sell well. Pandai betul Hyundai. Our Proton management must go to Hyundai and learn from them how to do business.
Hyundai just started 10 years before Proton. And yet, Hyundai got their perfect Hybrids and sells 9 million cars globally.
Proton, just sells 57,000 cars anuually and that also, bulk of it is ordered by the Malaysian Government and Ministries as a “sedekah” to help Proton out

As for the Dry Clutch DCT… Hey, Veloster Turbo’s using them since 2012. So far very few complaints…
I only saw once Veloster Turbo for my entire lifetime breathing oxygen in Malaysia . Maybe owner sold it off already when the DCT have issue? Or probably it haven’t reach a mass that need massive recalls on public media. Just sent private love letter cheaper.
Well that’s assuming a lot of things. The real thing is, this Ioniq is superb on price & spec and I would foresee this car should have HRV-like sales.
Or should I say, finally, thumbs up Hyundai.

I second this. You will still have some money back BEFORE the eighth year, so this is really a good value car.
1. After sales service kena improved.
2. Spare parts mesti mudah dicari dan alasan order dari Korea mesti dihapuskan.
3. Selesaikan dua pekara ini barulah aku akan pertimbangkan untuk memiliki Hyundai.
Jangan tahu jual tetapi selepas itu pemilik kena struggle nak pastikan kenderaan berfungsi sehingga habis bayar apa bila dealer lepas tangan bila selesai jual.
Is the hybrid system same like honda jazz? Well crap! This hyundai feels like the combination of prius, mazda and honda. Totally crap! Only the k pop fan will get this car.
Are the battery manufactured on the same plants as Samsung note 7? LOL
Do you think the Koreans can outsmart VW(TSI Polo,Golf etc.) and Honda(Fit) in Dry Clutch DCT technology in giving you a reliable car? Think again especially with our local Hyundai dealers customer service. Think about the pain of having your new car towed and stranded in workshop for months waiting for parts. Think about the resale values of Korean cars in Malaysia as even Toyota Prius resale value is bad.
Prius resales value is bad bcos our local dealer dont dare to take. Why dont dare to take? Cos the dont know anything about hybrid.
