After a long run as the sole locally assembled hybrid offering in the segment, the Mercedes-Benz S400h hybrid finally has apple-to-apple competition in the form of the new BMW 740Le xDrive plug-in hybrid.
Munich’s contender for the segment is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine, supported by an electric motor. The motor’s batteries can be recharged via a wall socket, and allows it to travel between 30-35km on electric power alone, based on our tests. The official NEDC rating is 41 km.
Also interesting is the inclusion of xDrive, which makes the 740Le an all-wheel drive sedan. We’ve not seen xDrive on BMW sedans in Malaysia before this, only SUVs.

Please, BMW Malaysia. Bring the 7 Series executive lodge version. DYMM Sultan Selangor’s 750Li G12 M Sport Variant got excecutive lodge and it’s right hand drive.

Or it was imported by BMW Malaysia (not sure from Ingress Auto or Auto Bavaria or what else) cause DYMM previous generation car (now used by Raja Muda Selangor) BMW 760Li E66 was imported by Auto Bavaria (can see the Auto Bavaria sticker from the rear view mirror).

It’s a right hand drive, four seater with the leg rest.
So I guess the leg rest is now available for right hand drive after all.
