A video clip on Malaysian social media shows a car making a late turn at an intersection from the wrong lane which is bad enough. What is worse is the driver sideswipes a policeman riding a motorcycle and drives off.
In a dash cam video posted on YDLAA social media by user Leow Fui Min (we’d like to give you the full version of the acronym but this is a public page), the driver in a white Mercedes is seen coming up to an intersection. The dash cam driver, in the correct lane, proceeds to make the right turn at the KLTS intersection in Kuala Lumpur.
However, the Mercedes driver, either in impatience or realising he is in the wrong lane, or wanting to cut the queue turning right, proceeds to cut across. Unfortunately, right behind him was a policeman riding a patrol bike who tries to stop the Mercedes driver from making the turn.
Disregarding the policeman coming up from behind, the Mercedes driver continues with the turn, side swiping the policeman and causing him to crash. The car then drives off, the driver ignoring the fact he or she has just caused a hit-and-run accident.
Considering the motorcyclist involved is a policeman, we can expect justice in this instance to be swift and quite merciless. In any case, when driving or riding, pay attention and clear your mirrors before making a turn.
