ACE 2024: Sime Darby Auto ConneXion to showcase Ford Ranger Raptor, StormTrak, WildTrak and Everest

Thinking of getting a new set of wheels? You’ll want to be at the paultan.org Auto Car Expo (ACE) 2024 – co-sponsored by Carro – where there’ll be no shortage of fantastic year-end deals from a variety of carmakers at the Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC) over the October 26-27 weekend.

If ‘tough’, ‘rugged’ and ‘go anywhere’ are your middle names, Ford is a must-visit, where you’ll meet the high-performance Ranger Raptor. Available with either a 397 PS/583 Nm 3.0 litre petrol V6 or a 210 PS/500 Nm 2.0 litre diesel, both with two turbos, the powerful pick-up truck has a Baja mode that activates an anti-lag system. You also get sophisticated Fox adaptive suspension, a reinforced chassis, permanent four-wheel drive, an electronically-controlled two-speed transfer case and locking front and rear diffs.

Accompanying it will be the Ranger WildTrak and Ranger StormTrak, both powered by a 210 PS/500 Nm 2.0 litre EcoBlue turbodiesel that’s mated to a 10-speed auto. The WildTrak gets lots of items including 18-inch alloys, six drive modes, leather seats and a 360 camera as standard, while the StormTrak – a 200-unit limited edition – adds an almost totally blacked-out treatment for maximum stealth, a flexible sports bar, an adjustable roof rack, an e-shifter, zone lighting and cargo lighting.

All the abovementioned Rangers have matrix LED headlamps, a 12-inch centre touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, seven airbags and ADAS including adaptive cruise control with stop-go as standard. Evidently, the Ford Ranger is a more-urbane-than-utilitarian workhorse.

Want a stylish SUV that seats seven? Ford’s got your back with the Everest, which comes in Sport, Trend, Titanium and WildTrak flavours. The Sport gets a 170 PS/405 Nm 2.0 litre single-turbo diesel and a six-speed auto, while the rest get twin turbos for 210 PS and 500 Nm of torque, and a 10-speed auto. Depending on variant, available equipment include matrix LED headlamps, 18- or 20-inch alloys, hands-free power tailgate and power-folding last row seats. All Everests get seven airbags; Titanium and WildTrak add ADAS including adaptive cruise control with stop-go. Check out Sime Darby Auto ConneXion’s website for more vehicle info.
